What I told her isn't fit to print, but suffice it to say, I'll have as many of them as my doctor and I deem appropriate to insure my continued good health. The key is to have your tests done as "diagnostic" rather than "screening." Same tests, but a different code. Screening tests do have limits, diagnostic tests are at the sole discretion of your doctor.
Especially black women, they already have weight issues, and shorter live spans than other races.
I have 2 cousins who developed breast cancer early. They are a rare pair, as the gene comes down the MALE line. Two aunts married 2 brothers, they carried the gene, now their daughters are gene tested, and so will their grand daughters, and it is hit and miss, but for them Mammos are a early must.
As much as I hate them because of the pain they cause, they do work 97% of the time.
It’s like the enlarged bottom of the heart they found when I had to do a full Cardio work up, a slow leaky valve, watch and wait until it gets so bad, then we will replace it, meanwhile your quality of life is diminished.
I agree with you more men and women will die because of these STUPID guide lines. Any time there is a relative with cancer, you need to be tested earlier.

I have 3 acquaintances , friends of my daughter, that would be dead right now if they had waited until they were 45.
This is a cost cutting recommendation, not a health one.
GailA, that’s why I’m trying to takexplain better care of myself. It’s never too late to improve, but you can’t get rid of the genes you were given. Joey’s story is heartbreaking as are all the others. I have lost a few of my aunts to cancer.
Personal note, I’m Vitamin D deficient, doc recently said they won’t be allowed to ask for it to be checked on a routine blood test. They will have to wait until there is something wrong and then see if it comes up. Nice /s
