Rising GOP star Ben Carson endorsed 'sham' nutrition supplement company...

Dr. Ben Carson, the rising African-American Republican star who is considering a run for the presidency, endorsed a nutritional supplement made by a firm embroiled in controversy, including claims that it's a pyramid scheme selling 'scam' products.

The revelation will damage Carson's standing as a moral crusader who aims to put an unassailable face on the GOP's anti-Obamacare health policies and could tank his future political plans.

Mannatech, a multi-level marketing sales company that sells weight-loss products, skin creams and so-called 'nutraceuticals.' Carson began his relationship with the firm in 2004, speaking at its annual sales conference, and gave repeat performances in 2011 and 2013.

His business manager Armstrong Williams told National Review Online that 'the decision that has been made' that Carson's won't publicly address his relationship with the company, and insisted the appearances were arranged by an outside speaker's bureau that currently charges more than $40,000 per speech for his services.

He continued after the lawsuit was settled. The company had to paid restitution Daily Mail says the video was made in 2014. I’m more surprised that he denied having anything to do with the company except a couple of speeches, but yet he made a video endorsing them in 2014.

If he didn’t know anything about this company by 2014, he should have, before he made the video. It shows poor judgement.

Of course this doesn’t come close to Clinton’s crap, but we have a choice now and I think this shows poor judgement on Ben Carson’s part.

But his top aide’s comments on Nation of Islam and Farrahkan are more alarming, since Carson said he and Armstrong are like brothers. I haven’t seen anyone in the press ask Carson about Armstrong’s article yet and if he agrees with Armstrong. I think it’s because the press won’t touch anything to do with Black Muslims or Farrahkan. They wouldn’t ask Obama either, whose pastor was a big Farrahkan supporter.

What kills me is that people who bash these companies as well as drug companies are usually also in favor of liberal drug laws. So, what? Vitamins bad, Cocaine good?

“What difference does it make at this time, anyhooo?”

We still hear sham and flim flam from Hillary on Benghazi even when she’s under oath.

If they were really concerned about shams they’d expose Hillary.

I really did donate to Carson 3 times. He had been my first choice. I read his story a long time ago and re-read it since he started running for President. I saw him in person before he announced and was impressed.

But a few things have cropped up that bother me. When he went to Ferguson, I didn’t like it when he second guess the policeman and said he would have handled it differently.

Ben Carson Said He Would’ve ‘Called for Backup’ Instead of Shooting Ferguson’s Mike Brown

I don’t think he is ready to be President. Nice guy, but in over his head.

You are very right...Carson is not ready to be President. I wasn’t impressed with him tonight either. I think his poll numbers will drop.

But here comes the MSM’s Rubio push /false narrative...

Of course. They aren’t worried about shams. Hillary was exposed for the liar she is, but it didn’t matter. I would like to see the 600 emails Chris Stevens wrote. It sounds like Chris Stevens was desperate. I want to know why the Republicans haven’t put the emails out so we can read them. I’d like the Republicans to investigate Morsi’s wife’s story about Hillary and Benghazi.

But I also want to see the candidates vetted so we can get a better idea of who they are. I want to see Carson answer the question on whether he supports the Nation of Islam like Armstrong Williams, his top aide.

I wonder if Dr. Carson eats and endorses this brand of fake hot dogs in a can?

The were made initially by a Seventh-day Adventist vegetarian health-food company, which was later sold a couple times to other companies.

I’m one of the angry voters. We put in all those Republicans and have nothing to show for it. Obama is still ruining this country for our children and grand children and the Republicans are helping. I wish we could boot them all out.

I’m for Trump now because he is an outsider. He isn’t perfect, but I agree with enough of his policies and I do believe he loves America. I’m not going to vote for another establishment elitist Republican. In hindsight, I believe Bush helped get us into the mess we are in. Just today, I read where a lot of Congress Critters cashed out their stock before the 2008 Wall Street Crash. They knew what was coming and Congress had exempted themselves from insider trading.

I'm no Carson detractor, but I think he made a huge mistake.

....Mannatech, a multi-level marketing sales company that sells weight-loss products, .....

Just about everyone over age 14 knew, even in 2004, that "MLM" was very suspicious on its own, and "sells weight loss" is also suspicious on its own, but "MLM + weight loss" = utter damnation. Those guys are all frauds and short-con artists.

Guess Carson fell victim to "the Brutus syndrome".

OMG he spoke at a conference. Horrors!!! Its worse than donating to Dems and advocating Dem policies!!!!

It’s his support for ethanol that threw me off the Ben bus.

Creationism is a negative?

What planet are you from?

Evolusiveness would be the negative - too stupid to walk down the street alone.

I agree that here come the E-GOP for Carson's head.

You are very right...Carson is not ready to be President.

Well, he obviously wasn't in 2004 when he got conned in between surgeries by some killa closah repping for the slime at Mannatech. Those guys read a new paper on health/nutrition and they're off like rabbits, hunting for suckers to act as singers and endorsers among the medical profession.

Carson may not be ready today, but we're asked to judge him based on a mistake he made in 2004.

As distinct from some political paladin brought to us by the political supermaggots who brought us this two-year budget deal that exempts the 'Rats from having to defend their evil budget priorities until Beastwoman is in office.
