MEMRI: No choice for Obama, he will resume talks with Iran
Arutz Sheva ^ | 2/11/15 | Hillel Fendel

The president and founder of MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute), Yigal Carmon, says the American media has dangerously refused to notice that Iran has not only not approved the terms of the JCPOA (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action it signed with the P5+1), but that it has no plans to do so.

Even President Barack Obama will soon have no choice but to re-open the negotiations with Iran – and will pass the hot potato onto his successor in the White House.

Carmon, who founded MEMRI in 1998, served as a counter-terrorism advisor to Prime Ministers Yitzchak Shamir and Yitzchak Rabin and participated in the Israeli negotiations with Syria in Madrid and Washington in the early 90's.

In his latest article, he explains that the JCPOA is actually not an agreement, but a document outlining a set of understandings and disputes between Iran and the countries whose sanctions it was trying to have removed.

"For example," Carmon writes, "the JCPOA states that in the event of Iranian violations, sanctions will be re-imposed (snapback). However, the Iranian position, which rejects all sanctions, is incorporated in the same document. 'Iran has stated that if sanctions are reinstated in whole or in part, Iran will treat that as grounds to cease performing its commitments under this JCPOA in whole or in part.'"

This will come to a head no later than six weeks from now, Carmon warns. For it is on Dec. 15 that the U.S. is to lift its sanctions – if and only if the IAEA reports by then that Iran has fulfilled its JCPOA obligations. Iran actually has no intention of doing so, however, as ultimate decision-maker Supreme Leader Khamenei has made clear.

Both houses of Congress, all presidential challengers, and Israel ought to raise hell over this. Has it even gotten on the MSM?

If Lurch had any integrity, he’d resign.

The agreement isn’t expected to require anything of Iran.

The purpose of the agreement is to shield Iran’s nuclear program; America promises not to interfere, and to protect them from attack by Israel. And America agrees to fund their nuclear program.

This agreement isn’t about what the news people prattle on about, it is about the very reverse of what people are told. I don’t know why so few people get that.

Even so, it’s not even an agreement. Iran has rejected it. Next comes the real agreement that Iran will not follow anyway, but the US will still be their BJ boy.

I’d say it’s a successful presidency from Homobama’s view.

He has wanted to diminish or destroy our military and he is getting there.

Wanted to reduce our might and standing in the world and we are definitely there.

Wants to take from the earners and give to the moaners...done. Wants to ruin the education and health care institutions here at home...not to mention the economy in general...proceeding apace.

Wants to destroy the moral fabric of the country, as by fag marriage, as by racial emnity, as by attacking free speech (certain words, certain topics you can’t even think about, let alone say)—worsening every day.

Expose the U.S. to literal destruction from within by exalting resident bloodthirsty Muslims and by importing thousands more just like them.

Stir up trouble in the Middle East in order to foster the reestablishment of the Caliphate, well on the way.

The looming threat of the destruction of Israel, with a battle for its survival probably in the near future—check.

Nudge along the deranged religion of Global Warming—oui oui si si ja ja.

Yes, the prissy little pampered schoolboy has come quite a long ways since he studied at the feet of his drunken, wife-beating America-hating father...the boy would make his daddy proud.

For the same reason they have walked away from several “bad deals” Zero tried to make with them in the last 7 years.

And for the same reason they held all those American hostages for 444 days until Carter left office.

They have taken Zero’s measure, and now it is just about embarrassing him, over and over again. Doing that is worth more to them then all the $$$ in the world.

Just my opinion of course... but they don’t have to sign it. They get the benefit of the agreement without any responsibilities to it, as minimal as they were.

It is a complete surrender on our part, so there is no need to sign it on their part. We are the ones surrendering.

Thats the way it looks to me.

Sanctions will collapse, we will grant them a window in time so they can complete their nukes, we’ll give them the $160 billion to pay for it, and by not signing it they won’t even have to permit the fake inspections.

When and if Trump rejects the fake non-agreement, they’ll call it an act of war (they’ve already told us this). They won’t sign it, they won’t obey it, but they are holding us to it.

He can’t resume talks as it would prove his great achievement to be an abject failure.
