Read up some study on Ezekiel 38. Russia just being in the ME next to Israel should cause anybody with prophecy interest to look at what is going on with even more interest.

Isaiah 17 talks about it. Damascu is supposed to be the longest inhabited city in the world but the prophetic scriptures talk about a future time when it will never be inhabited ever again. There might be other passages but this is the one I’m familiar with. Hope this helps!
