Well, probably not, as I condemned Carson when the story came out earlier today.

The only words I might eat are those when, as a friend and fellow Trump supporter, I alerted you to the possibility that there might be lying on the part of Politico.

Here is Carson's account. Kindly point out the lie.

At the end of my twelfth grade I marched at the head of the Memorial Day parade. I felt so proud, my chest bursting with ribbons and braids of every kind. To make it more wonderful, We had important visitors that day. Two soldiers who had won the Congressional Medal of Honor in Viet Nam were present. More exciting to me, General William Westmoreland (very prominent in the Viet Nam war) attended with an impressive entourage. Afterward, Sgt. Hunt introduced me to General Westmoreland, and I had dinner with him and the Congressional Medal winners. Later I was offered a full scholarship to West Point. I didn’t refuse the scholarship outright, but I let them know that a military career wasn’t where I saw myself going.

It's no mystery why West Point has no record of Carson applying for admission. He applied to exactly one college, Yale, and was accepted.

BTW, some morons are picking nits about the use of the word scholarship. In point of fact, West Point itself calls what it offers a scholarship — a full government scholarship, no less:

Of course, admittedly, being the gubmint, they are not required to make full disclosure in their advertising. Hence the omission of the post-graduation service commitment.

See, you don’t even need to read past the 1st half of the 1st page to see this little nugget. I would recommend that you do read further so you can avoid making statements like:

“Ted Cruz is in the Senate, not the Congress”

I'm finding it a little difficult (quietly watching from the sidelines) to believe how much Trump supporters are letting him get away with. If it were any other candidate there would be a neck-tie party for him or her. By the way, "cult" is a good word to use.

Romney would have been kicked to the curb long ago---and rightfully so. It seems we never learn our lesson.

The offering of an appointment to our military academies is an Honor. He was stealing honor. I liked him until this. I even averted mu gaze after his kooky Pyramid “Grain Storage : theory” This guy is a kook. His revision that his ROTC leader said “ I will grant you a full scholarship to WP” is as kooky as the first story. This guy is finished as a candidate in my party.

IT STATES:

ADMISSIONS DECISIONS

West Point has a rolling admissions policy. Outstanding, qualified, nominated candidates will be offered admission as their records become complete. All admissions files must be complete, to include nominations, by the last workday in February.

Financial and Service Obligation

As a cadet, you are a member of the U.S. Army and receive a full scholarship and an annual salary of more than $10,000 from which you pay for your uniforms, textbooks, a laptop computer, and incidentals. There is no tuition charge, but there is a requirement for an initial deposit. Room, board, and medical and dental care are provided by the United States Government.

Scary, isn’t it? Truth has ceased to matter to them.

I’m no fan of Carson. But the cult around Trump is very disappointing. I expect this kind of stuff from liberals, not from our side.
