Guess I need to read the whole article..

If they are former cops in another state and live in Sconnie now, they are citizens and can go get a CCL just like the rest of us...?

Or is it the 50 dollar filing fee every 5 years the issue?

Makes no sense..

Retired LEOs qualify under the Law Enforcement Officer's Safety Act (LEOSA). They have to stay qualified under the policies of either the agency they worked for or the jurisdiction they live in. Most of the time those requirements are more stringent than those required for a conceiled carry permit.

LEOSA is kind of a mixed bag of results. It makes it easier for LEOs to carry personal guns off duty, but there are a lot of gray areas, such as liability.
