After looking around for recipes, it doesn’t sound impressive. Good to know so I don’t waste time making it.

To tell you the truth, I have never had Lady Baltimore cake. It seems like it’s a Christmas tradition among some Southern people. I am a Marylander.

One of my sisters is married to a Southern gentleman, and his grandmother would make this cake. Sister made it only once, I think. I seem to recall she said it was a lot of work, and she did not care for it.

I looked up Lady Baltimore cake on line, which is the only reason that I knew about the tea room origin.
