Legal experts, by dozens, want resistance to marriage ruling

Dozens of top legal scholars from the likes of Washington & Lee, Boston College, Kansas State, Notre Dame, University of Texas, Villanova, Vanderbilt, Hillsdale, University of Nebraska, Catholic University and Regent University have issued a statement encouraging all state and federal officials to treat the Supreme Court’s recent creation of “same-sex marriage” as “anti-constitutional and illegitimate.”

[]

“We call on all federal and state officeholders: To refuse to accept Obergefell as binding precedent for all but the specific plaintiffs in that case. To recognize the authority of states to define marriage, and the right of federal and state officeholders to act in accordance with those definitions. To pledge full and mutual legal and political assistance to anyone who refuses to follow Obergefell for constitutionally protected reasons. To open forthwith a broad and honest conversation on the means by which Americans may constitutionally resist and overturn the judicial usurpations evidence in Obergefell.”

Now why would ANY U.S. state want to follow the law of God regarding ONE MAN and ONE woman for marriage?
The U.S. continues down the path to perdition.

encouraging all state and federal officials to treat the Supreme Court's recent creation of 'same-sex marriage' as 'anti-constitutional and illegitimate'.

Of course it's illegitimate, and I will not join others in pretending that these peculiar contracts have any connection to real marriages. Some people will play along, some will laugh quietly from a distance, and a few will stand up for the truth.

If entire cities and states can ignore immigration law a la “sanctuary cities” and have gotten away with it for decades, then jurisdictions that actually voted by a majority to have the traditional definition of marriage can ignore federal law, too.

I agree but go a step further that the governors of the states should be invoking the 10th amendment and ignoring the SCOTUS ruling. If there was ever a states rights issue its gay marriage.

An important post, Ray. Thanks very much. May this intention take off like a rocket. It must be accomplished.

The destruction of family and children is at the heart of this gay marriage abomination, and balkanizing women from men, men from women and children from parents.

Chaos is the goal. Then the social and religious destruction is the horse they ride in on.

The states should have refused to enforce the SC ruling because marriage is a state issue. There is no such thing as a federal marriage license.
