There’s a mysterious car company lurking in the shadows that has its sights set on Tesla. The trouble, however, is determining what it is and whether it’s really a threat. Faraday Future announced on Thursday that it plans to spend $1 billion on a U.S. manufacturing facility to build electric vehicles. Faraday has yet to announce the location of its facility, but the company’s senior vice president, Nick Sampson, said that the effort—if it comes to fruition—is “just phase one,” indicating that more, similarly major investments may be coming.

Your taxes as spent by Obama, the new religion....global warming ho! ------------Snippets--------------- On his LinkedIn page, Marcus Nelson, a former Salesforce marketing director, who now serves as Faraday’s head spokesman, says the company has received “millions in government incentives and tax credits.” It’s unclear exactly how much cash he’s referring to, its source, and how it may be used.

As for funding, all we know is that one employee claims it has secured government funding.

Still waiting on 60 Minutes to do an expose’ on the environmental disaster known as the industry that mines the minerals for all the batteries, plus the other wastes in the production stream of these ‘green’ vehicles.

Full disclosure: I love my plug in hybrid and am realistic about it.

I've test-driven 2 of them. First the Model 70 - couldn't believe how powerful the acceleration was. And the fit and finish was phenomenal.

Then, I drove the P85D last weekend. Same car, except dual motors (front & back) and the high-current (performance) controller. When I floored the accelerator pedal from about 20 MPH, I literally (and that is not hyperbole on my part) lost my mind for a moment. The acceleration was so strong that my brain couldn't process the sensations.

All this in an EV that has a range approaching 300 miles.
