Thereâs a mysterious car company lurking in the shadows that has its sights set on Tesla. The trouble, however, is determining what it is and whether itâs really a threat. Faraday Future announced on Thursday that it plans to spend $1 billion on a U.S. manufacturing facility to build electric vehicles. I've test-driven 2 of them. First the Model 70 - couldn't believe how powerful the acceleration was. And the fit and finish was phenomenal.
Then, I drove the P85D last weekend. Same car, except dual motors (front & back) and the high-current (performance) controller. When I floored the accelerator pedal from about 20 MPH, I literally (and that is not hyperbole on my part) lost my mind for a moment. The acceleration was so strong that my brain couldn't process the sensations.
All this in an EV that has a range approaching 300 miles.
it is a vaporware payoff scheme
