So basically the GOPe figures Hillary would be a better option than Trump, Carson or Cruz. I really believe that to be the case.

You can see they are getting ready to try and take out Trump.

They figure the media is already on Carson and that they well succeed the way they did with Herman Cain in 2012. So that leaves Cruz, whom they revile...so they will propose a floor fight in the convention if Cruz has barely enough delegates.

Then it’s their guy(s).... Rubio/Bush or Bush/Rubio which is what they wanted all along.

Chrisie, Kaisich, and Carly and Pataki, are in it for cabinet positions.

McCain is still around, too. He was a POW in Vietnam, did you know that?

Party leaders and donors fear nominating either man would have negative ramifications for the GOP ticket up and down the ballot, virtually ensuring a Hillary Rodham Clinton presidency and increasing the odds that the Senate falls into Democratic hands.

Yeah, nominating Trump or Carson would bring out all those crazies who voted in 2010 and 2014 midterms and gave the Republicans huge, undeserved and unearned gains in Congress.

These people are idiots. If they get their way and nominate one of their boys, then a few million will stay home and assure a Hillary win. Pretty much the opposite of what they predict.

Maybe he can get those 12 million evangelicals to vote for him this time.

BTW I never bought that theory. It was the Reagan democrats who didn’t show up to vote in 2012.

the problem is that the Republican professional politicians want a “good ole boy” who is more into the party than he is into the people or this country.

There has been a sea change over the past few years and the Republican Party leadership either doesn't get it or things that they can co-opt it and corrupt it to suit their pruposes.

It's not the Republican party, but the GOPe. You can be sure of that because their little corrupt empire will end with Trump.
