Islam is also opposed to most (not all) of the sexual revolution in the West (abortion, same-sex “marriage”, filth from Hollywood, etc.).
I think religion needs a moral code (obviously no two religions will agree 100%), a God (or gods), and maybe an afterlife. Islam has all of these.
Nota Bene: Please do not mistake my argument for one of Islam is mostly good. I am not saying that. I guess I am sort of playing Devil’s Advocate to almost everyone else on FreeRepublic.

Islam is directly from Satan. Muhammad admitted that 'Satan had deceived' him (the so-called satanic verses). The Koran is a manual of inflicting misery on mankind (remember that Satan hates man. We got the favored position from God, and Satan cannot stand that).
Our battle is not with those misled, or trapped, in the cult of Islam. They are fellow men, and need saving and rescue. You don't do that by ignoring the truth and historical facts. Islam destroys and increases human misery.
I see nothing laudable about fasting for Satan or giving alms to terrorist organizations.
Islam is opposed to the West, not the debauchery. They engage in the same, and worse, while declaring the West corrupt.
