It looks to me like you were having a knee-jerk reaction to the name, and I am somewhat dubious about your veracity re: your familiarity with their music, especially after reading the underlined section of the copied quote from your post above.
I am no happier that these guys got out than anyone else did. I honestly wish that ALL the people there had escaped with their lives. You came across with a comment that twisted genuine relief at the escape of a few semi-famous folk that have brought entertainment and joy to literally millions into "hero worship" and celebration of nihilism and cultural degradation. Their lives are worth less to you because they are entertainers. To me, ALL lives matter. that some folks didn't make it out is horrible, but many did, and for that I am grateful. Unnamed and regular folk got out too, you know. It wasn't just the band, and apparently there may be a missing member of the crew. Is he just as worthless to you as the band members, or because he's nameless he's OK in your book?
It must be sad to live in such a limited and sterile world.
I know it will happen here. Sooner rather than later, I fear. I wish I was being paranoid.
After hearing “they will come in cars” I immediately thought about all the football tailgating tomorrow and Sunday. They don’t have to get into a stadium-just near the crowds.
Football season is the perfect time of year for this type of coordinated attack across the country.
It has nothing to do with the name. I am familiar with the band. Yes, it isn’t death metal or heavy metal; I think of it as being a kind of smiley face version of our destructive popular culture. Even on FR, we seem to have become desensitized to what entertainment is really doing. In any event, this started as a thread about our celebrity culture. My post 50 mostly sums my point up.
Btw, Josh Homme has said that he and Jesse Hughes are both pretty right-leaning guys (politically conservative, though socially liberal). Josh also stated that he owns several guns.

Who ever said that? This was something that you inferred. I understand what you are trying to say, but nope, failed.
You had no clue who the band was. Neither did I. You did your research like I suggested and now you are backpeddling.
Puhleeze! None of us have had a thought about the others??? Are you freaking kidding me? You are very disingenous at the least. Good night.
Socially liberal...being pro sodomite lifestyle, drugs, and pro abortion, for example, is ok because they own guns and maybe want to cut spending? Like almost any similar band, there’s a record of going to rehab, getting in fights, etc. What is lost in all of this is the initial point: Why should someone be ecstatic that the famous ones got out without the slightest concern being shown for the others who got out or didn’t get out? There is nothing so exemplary about them that they merit special mention. I know that isn’t your point, but this is so far down the thread the point has been lost.
I see, like the Amazing Kreskin, you are a mind reader. Sorry you hadn’t of them before, or perhaps I should say that I am sorry I had heard of them before and had someone “introduce me” to their “art”. I’m not backpedaling, you are trying to salvage your ego. I didn’t say anything about “none of us”. I was clarifying my post in response to the initial post for the reading comprehension challenged.
I do care.
Consider that most of the people killed today were in that building to see them perform. Hope they get help to deal with the guilt they might feel.
I had never heard of them but I can search for them and find out info about them long before the names of the other victims are released. It is a way to put a face and name to some of the victims.
They are just as much victims as the people in the audience. I am including the survivors as victims.
Thank you God. Glad they made it out safely. A miracle amongst all that carnage.
Which says nothing whatsoever about the band, or their importance, or anything else, but simply expressed thanks that at least some people made it out safely.
You said:
I'm trying really hard to care. Any one of the actual victims is probably worth more than the entire band.
Your statement that "If you care to look, my original point had to do with the initial post being ecstatic that the famous ones got out without a thought for the others" indicates that you basically fantasized what the first post was about, or perhaps, to be fair, you have limited reading comprehension abilities. Or you are just making up excuses now.
Have a nice day.
You doth protest too much. You made a really assinine statement about victims of a terrorist attack. Live with it.
Yes, I think it came off that way and is wrong.
Although if Green Day were in there and didn't make it out, I wouldn't have had a problem with that.
Oh, damn, did I let my inner Trump out again? ;-)
You are quite the drama queen.
The article was mainly about the band getting out. You should be more careful.
Well, someone accused me of not knowing who the band was any more than she did. Unfortunately I do know the band, and I must say that if it had been Axis of Awesome instead I would have “cared” ;-)
