CNN is reporting live from the scene. Apparently a false alarm.
People are reporting via social media that there have been shots heard near the Place de la République and near Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. We're watching for confirmation of violence from official sources.
When I stayed next to Republique Plaza, probably ten years ago, unaccompanied women were getting accosted by ME men if they stepped out of the hotel at night.
Crowds of mourners are great soft targets.
They are also great for sending in some muzzies who can do some “allah snackbars” and get attacked by the crowd and then turn that into an “Islamaphobia” story.
If a terrorist launched another attack as people were morning, it would psychologically destroy that nation. I am surprised it hasn’t happened yet, quite honestly.
These savages act as brutal as they can; and yet people are meandering about the streets as though all are contained. If one savage with a suicide vest ran up to a television reporter and blew themselves up, people would not leave their apartments for weeks.
People need to wake up and allow citizens the right to be armed.
Unless there is a cop on every street corner and in every bar (there will never be) then these types of attackers are not preventable. Only the presence of MANY armed citizens can prevent and/or mitigate the risk of mass killings.
A Youtube video just posted by a witness at the scene says it seems the panic was caused by someone setting off firecrackers - any injuries were likely the result of people trying to flee - to do this at a time like this is criminal . . . I wonder if they know who it was.
False alarm or not, it’s stupid to be in crowded places these days. The more people, the better the target.
