University of Missouri is now the symbol of our dysfunctional higher education system. Those poor folks who go there.

I think it is more a symbol of the failure to assimilate the ancestors of the slaves (since Africans themselves are much better assimilated in the US). There is no “education” taking place where these students attend class; admitting them is just a delaying action to slow the birth rate (successfully) and hope they’ll end up gainfully employed ANYWHERE (often by some form of government or government agency). Most certainly have no value in the private sector.

My guess is that a 2010+ non-STEM diploma from there is going to be worth less than a prison stint followed by a GED in the job market. At least the person who gets the GED is trying to better themselves and is on an upward path.

I (sort of) feel sorry for the parents who broke their asses to send their kids there. Well, they over-coddled their kids at home before they were 18, they’ll be doing it again for them after they are 22.

The free market works!
