Since I'm not familiar with military protocol, how likely is it that a Marine would publish his Marine photo ID ?

An image of a current ID provides opportunity for creation of fake IDs.

Given history of several recent shooter events at military installations, one would presume it not likely acceptable protocol to publish Marine (any military) photo ID.

All military ID’s are the property of the US Government. They must be turned in and destroyed when expired.

As a minimum he is in possession of stolen property.

He covered up his social security number but I am curious how he can still be on active duty and not have a current ID card. They have a life of about 4 years, and I don’t think enlisted are allowed to keep old cards. Something fishy there.
