Filing deadline for New Hampshire primary arrives

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is the last major Republican candidate to file his paperwork for the New Hampshire primary.

Carson is near or at the top of most polls, but he rarely campaigns in New Hampshire. His trip to the Statehouse is his only stop in the state, and he’s scheduled to appear in Iowa less than three hours later.

Carson now receives Secret Service protection, meaning security will be much higher at the Statehouse for his filing than for other candidates.

It’s the last day for presidential candidates to pay $1,000 and file paperwork if they hope to get on the New Hampshire primary ballot next year.

I haven’t looked lately, but it’s a good bet that only Trump has done so.

Well I’ll be. Virginia has made it easier than in 2012 by requiring now only 5k instead of the old 10k of signatures required. In 2012, Gingrich and Perry sued and lost to get on the Virginia ballot. ...I’ll bet they did not get 16,000 signatures or more than Trump.

Interesting Trump Carson Bush Cruz Kasich all filed. Any word on whether they me the requirement? Is Virginia a winner take all state? If not Trump, Carson and Cruz should be able to keep Bush and Kasich from getting any delegates

If Bush is on the ballot it’s good Kasich is as well. Split that RINO vote.

Yep, at this point, the more RINOs on the ballot the better.

Trump and Carson appear to have made it officially. Green papers website has them listed as such.

I believe that there is some variation on winner take all, with winning at the congressional district level still being worth something. Last time round, Paul managed to win one district and pick up some delegates.
