"I voted against TPA and I intend to vote against TPP."

BS. He voted to end the filibuster on TPA, thus helping it over the 60 voted hurdle. Then he cast a meaningless vote against TPA when only 51 votes were required for passage.

And since Ted cast his crucial vote for TPA, only 51 votes will be required to pass TPP. He's not exactly distinguishing himself with this deceptive campaign stance on the issue.

It’s pretty historical. It explains why Cruz voted the way he did. 0 was going to get his TPP. TPA was supposed to give congress negotiating power and was part of deal to kill Ex-Im. McConnell lied, Cruz calls him out. He even explains why he trusted McConnell.

He was not the crucial 60th vote for cloture, despite what you may have read on FR. Furthermore, he’s explained his vote many times.
