Trump was responding to a Wall Street Journal report that Republican operatives are considering banding together donors from the other GOP campaigns in a bid to knock Trump off the top spot.

Their efforts are taking on increased urgency as the first-in-the-nation Feb. 1 Iowa caucuses near and Trump leads the crowded GOP field for the fourth consecutive month, according to a new national Washington Post-ABC News poll. Some candidates, including Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Florida governor Jeb Bush, also are showing more willingness lately to directly attack Trump.

I don’t blame him. The GOPe is downright evil.

This is a totally consistent stand. Trump's allegiance to the Republican nominee was ALWAYS prefaced by his being treated fairly.

If the 'pubs steal the nomination for the likes of Jeb or Kasich, and hillary is handed the Dem nod, I'd think a third-party Trump candidacy would resonate.

When it’s widely announced that GOPe PACs are gearing up with an add by to the tune of $2.5 million to not promote their candidate(s), but to take down the front runner who is advocating making America Great Again, building a wall, reporting illegals, bringing jobs back, not taking money from special interests, how the hell can you blame him?

Sounds reasonable considering the GOP has not been fair.

Thing is, Trump is leading the GOP polls, perhaps they should ask the others this question.

Not going to vote for anyone not named Trump or Cruz, no matter what party they are with.

Saying he is not sure he would support the eventual winner were it not he, is not the same as saying he will go third party...just sayin.

If Trump were forced to go 3rd party would he draw even more crossover democrats who would be less reluctant to vote for a non-republican? Who knows and hope it never comes to that although GOPee are quite the stupids.

At this point . . . he could probably pull it off.

And with numbskull neanderthals like Kasich and friends doing what they’re doing, I couldn’t blame him.

At this point the only potential candidate to come from behind to top Trump is Cruz and he ain’t no darling of the GOPee. The elitists are simply SOL and only a heavy handed devious scheme of a stunt could topple Trump or Cruz. That would be the GOPee’s Waterloo.

It is too late for Trump to go third party, that ship sailed when he signed "the pledge". But just for grins say he goes third party then it is Jeb/Clinton/Trump no one gets 270 electoral votes and the election is decided in the GOP held House. Jeb (or Rubio) is President of the USA.

Trumps' only road to the White House is as the GOP nominee.

I think GOPe would be happy with a third party. It would then be Hillay which they’re perfectly ok with.

It’s sad that the likes of Michael Moore and all republican haters are right about the “big donors” who control the party. Every “every day Joe” should vow to never vote for an establishment republican. And if a person runs for congress against the establishment then changes his tune, vote his butt out.

Yes they are quite bad. The behavior of the GOP/RNC has immunized Trump against the negative affect going 3rd party. I think many of us have left the RNC reservation anyhow.

Here is the deal - us on the right aren't going to be team players anymore with the squishy RINOs. The nominee is Trump or Cruz - else we will stay home and the country will elect Clinton, and we will spend the next 4 years building a national conservative party.

The establishment hears my gun to the head approach and sees Trump and Cruz exceling.

They are totally freaked out its awesome.

However the next terror attack that occurs on the United States soil by ISIS is the fault of Obama and those in congress.

The failure to keep us safe when the methods and means were available is treasonous and will need to be dealt with as such. Its getting close to pitch forks and torches time.

Islam is hate speech and hate action using the religious liberty of this country to shelter its armories/mosques.

We can not allow terrorists to hide behind a hateful creed. The constitution is not a suicide pact that allows infiltrators to destroy the country while hiding behind the first amendment.

The day is coming when Islam needs to be removed as a recognized religion and mosques need to be shutdown

Do we have the stomach for this - I hope so

If Cruz rises enough GOPe will play dirty enough to force Trump into a 3rd party run and knock off Trump and Cruz. It would give the election and give the election to the Dems.

Why would they mind Hillary; they seem okay with Obama.
