So if a governor makes it a crime for any city, county, or state official to accept money from the feds for housing refugees, then the cities or counties that do take in refugees will have to pay for it out of their local tax dollars.

And what will the feds do? Threaten not to provide funds.

Game. Set. Match.

States that do not comply with the requirement would be breaking the law and could be subject to enforcement action, including suspension or termination of the federally funded program, according to the letter, signed by the director of the federal resettlement office, Robert Carey.

So...states that don't accept any Syrian refugees will have their right to accept Syrian refugees suspended or terminated.

I can live with that. Let's seal that deal.

You’re right. One day, we were told, there were 27 governors refusing to accept the “refugees”. The next day we were told the governors were getting a talking to from Obama. We’ve heard nothing since....

If we actually had an opposition party, congress could defund this threatening agency.

Do it then.

Whatever.

Have state police arrest them, put them in buses, and have them dropped off in front of the White House.

I wonder who told Barry that. A couple of his braindead, retarded “lawyers” that told him that the Constitution and Bill of Rights are too old to be followed.

Wow, they're going to take away funding. Beats the hell out of contaminated water, a dirty bomb. or just a bunch of wackos with assault weapons.

Give him the money, Governors. You don't want it to come out after a major disaster that you gave in for the cash.

The U.S. Constitution absolutely requires the national government to protect each of the states from invasion.

The right of self-defense is intrinsic to individuals and states. If the national government fails in its duty to protect them from invasion, the right and duty to defend falls back on the states.

I wonder what would happen if 27 states decided not to send the government it’s demanded ransom (taxes)? The states have threatened to withhold it in the past.

It appears to me that if the only threat is withholding Federal Funds for programs in that state, then in fact the State does have the right to refuse refuges. They just don’t have the luxury to do so with this current President.

...states may not deny benefits and services to refugees based on a refugee's country of origin or religious affiliation.

They don't have to use the "refugees'" origin or religion as a reason - they can use "improperly vetted potential terrorist" and only accept young kids and widows ...

We'll not see enforcement of the 10th until repeal of the 17th.

A Senate of the States was key to our entire design of government.
