Iraqi Politician Claims Turkey Lets ISIL Sell Oil for Meager $20 a Barrel

Turkey allows the Islamic State terrorist group to sell Iraqi and Syrian oil for just $20 a barrel, Iraq's former National Security Adviser Mowaffak al-Rubaie wrote on Saturday.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page al-Rubaie, who is also a leader of the Law-Governed State parliamentary coalition, outlined Ankara’s four-pronged support for the Islamic militants, with the illegal oil trade topping the list.

“First and foremost, the Turks help the militants sell stolen Iraqi and Syrian oil for $20 a barrel, which is half the market price,” Mowaffak al-Rubaie wrote.

Turkey in general, and Istanbul in particular, is also a place where ISIL commanders recruit local migrants and take them to Mosul in Iraq or Raqqa in Syria, he noted.

Turkey, attacking the Kurds and helping ISIS. What an “ally”. And now the EU wants to fast track them into the EU. Document free travel between Turkey and Europe. What could go wrong?

So now we’ve got “conflict oil”, “blood oil”, like the “blood diamonds” of Africa.

Will the industry self-regulate like the diamond industry did to put a stop to it? Somehow I doubt that!

Dumb question:

We know where the oil fields are, and have bombed the trucks that deliver the oil. How on earth could we (the US with satellite technology) not know where these trucks go every day?

We have to know (and Russia has to know) exactly where this oil is delivered. It can’t be that hard to figure out.

"We have to know (and Russia has to know) exactly where this oil is delivered"

I believe Russia is giving Turkey and the US a chance to put a stop to it.

And, of course, a chance to deny it vehemently. Note: The US Government has not yet made a statement on this VERY SERIOUS accusation.

Once the US speaks up, Russia will either be satisfied, or will take it to the UN...satellite pictures, invoices...close-ups with Recon aircraft.

If you steal the oil, anything you sell it for is a profit.

This is a repeat of the 1990s when B Clinton allowed Saddam Hussein to smuggle oil out of Iraq and sell it below market price.

Of course we all know the Clintons didn’t get any cut of the profits because the Clintons are just too honest to do something like that right?

Well Erdogan just made this interesting - today he stated he would resign, if Russia could produce proof. Certainly not sweeping it under the carpet.

Wow, let’s see - just follow the convoys with drones - or take license numbers and markings and check them as they cross the Turkish boarder.
