“U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz will return to a central Iowa gun range Friday to announce a “Second Amendment Coalition” made up of supporters of his presidential campaign.

The coalition will have five co-chairs: Gun Owners of America President Tim Macy; former Georgia U.S. Rep. Bob Barr; Sgt. Patrick Perkins, president and co-founder of Heroes Hunting; Iowa Firearms Coalition board member Richard Rogers; and Iowa Republican activist Dave Funk.

Cruz’s Second Amendment Coalition has more than 24,000 members, the campaign told The Des Moines Register. More than 1,000, the campaign said, are from early primary voting states.”

So before his speeches, he allows for gun holders to attend without going through security? How about as President? Will he allow visitors to carry while touring the White House? Lets see how serious he is or if he is full of crap.

The Entire DHS was built around the perceived need for a TSA.

How about a cheaper solution;
Military, Veterans, Current and Retired LEOs in good standing and with current qualification, can board the plane armed.

BP, FBI, ATF etc can go back to Justice, SecServ can go back to Treasury.

I’m working on gun training. I think its a responsibility I have. I now enter a public place and check out the exits and the potential weapons. (I don’t have a gun yet).

Recently I find myself doing things out of spite for this president.

Today I joined the NRA for the first time. I’m buying another gun as well.

Think I’ll buy a gun off of armslist this week. Been thinking I should have a Glock 9mm.

I'm in favor of responsible and stable gun owners as I have said before. I don't know who Ted meant. How many people are left that would be reliable and good shots under tremendous pressure?

For the life of me, how could the average person with a concealed carry have taken out even one of the shooters in San Bernardino? They were on a scorched earth mission and would have fired at anybody that moved (if there weren't particular targets they were after). There were 2 men who had gone to the rest room, and a couple bullets came whizzing through the wall and into the paper towel dispenser near where they were standing, thereby at least one got grazed or shrapnel in the face. They hit the floor, put their feet evidently to brace the door and waited for the police. Source: an LAT article today.

With some luck, a concealed carry or two or three might have had a good shot while the crazies were reloading, distracted. They were in and out in I read 30 seconds but that might not be accurate. But it was fast.

The above I meant 1 to 3 people, one concealed carry each. If they had any time to coordinate, they might have gained an advantage. Maybe an experienced shooter can think of a scenario where they could have used their concealed carry to the advantage of themselves and at least some of the victims.

... the Second Amendment must be defended and the American people must be armed.

Fine, I don't have a problem with that. However, let's deal with the real problems.... first, the Connor v. Donaldson, 422 U.S. 563 (1975) that has put endless mental patients on the street for years needs to be reversed. Secondly, doctors need to stop prescribing psychological drugs to people that make them want to go out and kill people... http://psychiatricfraud.org/2011/01/study-reveals-top-ten-violence-inducing-prescription-drugs-%e2%80%93-eight-are-psychiatric-drugs/ and http://psychiatricfraud.org/2011/04/the-real-lesson-of-columbine-psychiatric-drugs-induce-violence/

He is right. The government cannot protect us in this current Islamic holy war that is spilling out into our streets. The jihadists have unrestricted access and can strike anywhere, anytime. All gun-free zones are soft targets, ie, killing zones. Our citizens must remain armed and diligent.
