MIAMI, Fla. — Believing it was part of an art installation, patrons at an art show were slow to react when a woman was stabbed with a utility knife.

A fight between two women escalated, leading to one woman stabbing the other in the neck and arms Friday at the at the Art Basel Miami Beach, according to police. The women apparently had gotten into a scuffle near an exhibit by the artist Naomi Fisher.

A witness told Fisher that he thought it was part of an exhibit:

Read one time (probably on this site, as a matter of fact) about a janitor who came across a tray with a bunch of fast food garbage on it, and tossed it all out, only to find out later he had disposed of a (supposed) work of art. Even Tom Wolfe (”The Painted Word”) couldn’t come up with an episode that rich.

It would appear that the stabber was a Chinese female.

Apparently not.

The alleged perp is Asian, likely Chinese. Not many of them adhere to the totalitarian death cult.

Was it performed on an Aldis Lamp?

Woman stabbed during argument at Art Basel; suspect arrested

According to the arrest report, while she was being patted down, Zhao spontaneously stated, "I had to kill her and two more."

Zhao also said, "I had to watch her bleed!"

Bat shit crazy is my guess.

Hadn’t seen that particular event, but same general idea - thanks for posting the link.

Two of my other favorites are a canvas that was painted entirely black that’s exhibited somewhere as an important work, and another that’s all white and similarly held in high regard. I’ve got to wonder which is considered the greater accomplishment, and whether one’s allowed to make that judgment without stumbling into the territory of racial insensitivity.

The fact that the bystanders made that mistake should be your first clue as to the state of modern ‘art.’

Also, I thought this statement was strange.

Security guards and event organizers worked quickly to clean up the scene, and to keep public attention focused on the art and not the stabbing. One bystander said he asked a guard what happened, and was told that a very expensive statue had fallen on someone.

LOL, what? Everyone is in to avant- garde free form expression it seems.

While I was attending Glassel Art School our painting class was taken to a local exhibit at a gallery.

The artist (I use that term lightly) had gathered some dead tree branches stood them upright and hung rubber chickens from them.

You read that right, rubber chickens.
