Finny, what we can do now is pray for them.
Excellent post. Like you, there are no circumstances under which I will vote for trump. It’s not even close.
I liked Trump better when he was a Democrat
Bush Bush McCain Romney Trump. Does anyone see a trajectory here?
Gravity :-)
Yes! Or as I said on an earlier thread:
there is no way Donald Trump will be the President of the United States. And I have listed on a number of posts the reasons why.
As people begin to get serious about their votes, they will begin to look for someone who offer more substance and less bombast. Anger is not sufficient.
Hillary will win the debates. She wonât have to do a damn thing on substance, she could lose every point (she wonât, sheâs been around the game long enough to avoid that) but as soon as Trump lets his mouth run before his brain, which is his normal mode, he will say something crass and she will play the vagina card and people the nation over will swoon.
He has offered virtually nothing of substance (nor have many others, it is still early), but in Trumpâs case, I believe (IMHO) that he thinks he doesnât have to (heâs Trump!!!). That dog ainât gonna hunt.
As people, especially conservatives and other Republicans move towards looking for substance, his liberal views, of which there are and have been many, will come more to the forefront. Donât believe me? How about his statement yesterday that he will issue an executive order mandating the death penalty for cop killers. Something most could agree on? Yes. But is that how conservatives, those who supposedly revere the Constitution, want the President to act? I know I donât and I believe there will be millions more like me.
Trumpâs support is a mile wide and an inch deep. As others drop out he will not pick up the majority of those candidates percentages. He repeatedly polls second to last (ahead of Bush) of âwho is your second or third choiceâ So as others drop out and those percentages go to one of the other top tier candidates (an ever winnowing group), Trump will look less inevitable and for all the reasons Iâve cited above and others, he will lose enough support to stop him from winning.
Now watch how many Trumpeters attack the messenger and donât debate any of my points.
LOL!!!
Gravity :-)
BUMP!! {^)
Anyone know if Mr Vaander Ley, the very large export/import business man
Has given his backing to?
You put a lot of energy into that. We understand. We’re all frustrated no end.
.
Well said!
This hero worship is beyond bizarre.
Good post Finny, but I’m not sure that your intended audience is listening.
Quite to the contrary, any criticism, even in the form of solid analysis, seems to place us in the same category as the Media whores.
Yesterday I was labeled as being unpatriotic and a establishment drone..and I did not criticize trump, I only praised Cruz..Today, I have refrained from engaging.
I look forward to the coming days as Rush has said he plans to address the psychology of this to a greater degree then he has, and I believe he has been spot on in his analysis, that uses a central point where he says that Obama created this, in it’s entirety and it’s explainable reaction.
IMHO, reaction’s to negative stimulus, as we know or should know, are fraught with pitfalls and dangers that are not being rationally digested by the minds of many voters on both sides of the aisle.
Some of us are naturally resistant to group think, and we stick out like a sore thumb. So we become the target of the pervasive rage against Obama.
I would hope that things settle down, but I don’t think they will.
I hope you are correct.
There was a very funny movie (critics panned it) years ago, "Trial and Error," with one of the finest comic performances ever by Rip Torn. He was a con man that mail-defrauded people into paying $25 for a copper engraving of Abe Lincoln, lavishly described. They sent him $25 bucks, he sent them back a penny. He was being charged with fraud. So to defend himself he took the "Twinkie" defense, he was just a victim of bad eating.
In the end, for the Prosecutor, it boiled down to one thing: He sold pennies, for $25.
I think of Trump. He established trust among American people by way of "personal brand."
That's all you need to know in the context of presentation and Trump's past.
Articles to consider from Forbes:
"Fourth Time's a Charm: How Donald Trump made Bankruptcy Work for Him" Forbes April 29th, 2011 and ...
June 16, 2015, "Trump Exaggerating His Net Worth In Presidential Bid."
When I try direct links, I'm afraid they default to Forbes' welcoming page, but if you put the titles and "Forbes" in a general search engine, you can find links. Apparently Trump values his "personal brand," whatever that is at a couple billion dollars.
Oh well.
You are joking! Most of Trumpsters are just fine with Cruz, if for some reason Trump goes away, and that includes me. OTOH I can name dozens of Cruz supporters who constantly troll Trump threads, and attack Trump.
... drop of water on a flat surface, the rings moving outward ... truth will out.
Somebody told me yesterday that I need to decide which is greater, my love of my country or my hatred of Trump. Seriously.
I've also read bizarre posts about Trump carrying all fifty states against Hillary, and black people voting in the majority for Trump! And he's going to make Sarah Palin Secretary of State and eliminate the Departments of Education and Health and Agriculture.
If they can dream it, they believe Trump can do it. He's that freaking awesome!
Rush could possibly change history if he upset his policy of not endorsing primary candidates. He has always refused to endorse in the primaries for any number of reasons, I have heard them and I respect them and even admire them because he gets that he's not telling us who to vote for, he's talking about WHAT to vote for. So I respect it.
I also hope he finds it in himself to let what is right supersede what is shrewd. He has made it as plain as plain can be that he much prefers Ted Cruz, from what little I have heard or read.
I saw recently where on national media, asked to compare the primary candidates, Rush came as close to overtly endorsing Cruz as it gets, yet the spin and the slant of the story was "all about Trump." The resports focused on Rush's cautious praise of Trump, relegating Cruz to the bottom of the story. Fox news, no less.
Rush is going to submit?
I have mixed feelings about and for Rush. He really let me down in 2012.
No, I was not referring to a endorsement, and yes, I also believe he is in the Cruz camp, simply because he would have to be!
But I don’t think he will directly endorse and violate his self imposed policy.
I think what he will do is try to accomplish it indirectly by coaching listeners minds about what I said was missing in this primary. What is missing is any hint of critical thinking. It’s been replaced by emotional or what some call gut reaction.
All of this due entirely to the last 7 years of Obama and his minions. Only today I saw a number of people celebrating a Union endorsement of Trump. That Trump can win by getting democrat votes.
Of all the places on the internet where self identified conservatives gather and discuss issues, celebrating this sort of thing here would have been grounds for banishment or at least a timeout, and the big Zot, only a few months ago..
Do you see what I mean?
BTW, Rush is not doing what he is doing to support Trump. He is doing it to explain Trump and to poke the media with a sharp stick. He has to..it’s what is making news and you cannot ignore it.
Trump is a liberal Rockerfeller Republican running an Independant Conservative Campaign.
