Adding to that is the fact that the Saudis spend tends of millions of dollars building underground tunnels, adding police, etc. to make these gatherings safer.

A little known fact about Islam is that they are the original white supremacists. The Sunni and Wahhabist Arabs consider themselves at the top of the food chain and are incensed when inferiors such as Malaysians, Indonesians, Shiites and the like refuse to yield for them.

Just one more reason these crowds keep moving when there is an obvious problem with people being trampled underneath.
