Considering the French were such a major part of the Crusades and they stopped the Muslim horde from taking much of France, I have found it strange that they have waited so long, done so little, and allowed the Muslim quarter in their lands.

Must be a Francophile. They let Algerians et al in to the point were they were rioting, threatening people, burning cars etc for several years. Guess the alarm clock went off.

All we have is a “French” president. Once O is gone, I hope Trump prosecutes him for treason, usurping the Presidency etc. JMO

Good article and the French an interesting people.

Besides their practice in Algiers, Viet Nam was also a good learning ground for them then for the USA.

Years ago few mocked the French military ... After the horrific losses of WW1 and WW2 one would think the genetic strain of good fighting men was lost and the only men left to repopulate their society were the male ballerinas, poets and other limp wristed non men who had not gone to be soldiers
Their women have always been good stock. Hopefully they don't all end up in burkas.
