What's been implicit in TV commercials for yearsâthat American husbands are feckless wimpsâhas now officially become explicit . . .
Tuning in to watch a simple Sunday Night Football game, we were treated to a Kia ad. Wife at the wheel as the family pulls into a crowded parking lot for their kid's football game. Wimpy husband suggests they go back and park someplace safe. We get to read the wife's mind as, driving it up a hill, she says "or, we could run it right up the gut." She then adds the coup de grace: "someone's got to wear the pants in this family." Take that!
View the commercial here.
Readers are urged to view the commercial. What would be the liberal reaction if wives were mocked in this way?
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Let’s hear it for network neuterality. /s
Sadly, a lot of men these days are wimps. Kia is tapping into the woman wears the pants market which is obviously large.
Nothing is recognizable anymore. The fundamental transformation cuts deeply.
I’ve always found KIAs offensive. I wouldn’t buy one. That acronym means something else to me and I don’t think that it should be used to sell cars. But that’s just me.
I like that commercial where the DAD writes CHAMPIONS on his sons football trophy. Can’t recall the business it was advertising tho
but there’s also a great Kia commercial where a husband/father mocks the idea of “participation” trophies.
Then again, that was a black dad, so I guess it’s okay for him to be smart.
that was also Kia
Seems like women are taking over the world. Too bad we can’t reproduce without them.

Here come the gainsayers....
First time I’ve noticed that.....hmmm
Warning: Partial Threadjack
The Allstate commercial where the prissy chick’s voice becomes Dennis Haysbert’s as she silences her boyfriend after she asks him how she could have gotten a good driver discount. That commercial is just one in a long line of emaciating, men are idiots, themed commercials. Ugh.
Radical Militant Feminism strikes again.
If he reminds her of her fecklessmess, woe betide him. She's the one who reminds me of some queen who said:
"BALLS, said the queen, if I had two I'd be king!"
That and The Stupid White Guy ads
After all, can’t offend any of the Protected Classers by casting one in a subservient or dumbbell role
wow. what a difference in commercials!!!! maybe this one was made by a feminist upset at that one
Not a threadjack at all: a very relevant comment. And I hate that ad, too!
The programs that get my goat are the so-called law enforcement ones like Walker Texas Ranger where the writers create scripts which give away to any would-be terrorist or criminal organization the methods used by law enforcement to infiltrate their groups. If you are a terrorist or a thief all you have to do is watch U.S. television for a few weeks and you will learn very quickly all of the techniques used by law enforcement in this country to infiltrate your command and control and trap you. Way to go Hollywood. Aid and abet the enemy. And Americans sit in their living rooms and get off on this crap thinking it’s great entertainment. Are we stupid or what?
