If the fate of our country depends on the will of one man, we've transitioned from a republic of laws to some form of despotism.
Our once governing institutions have not only been corrupted from their free government purposes, they have come to serve tyranny. Congress no longer represents the collective voices of the people and states; its modern purpose is to rubber-stamp the desires and whimsies of one man, the President.
Voting, which represents the sum of a nation's electoral will, has been shown to be insufficient to restore free government. What remains is for the people to express their sovereign will through a state convention to propose constitutional amendments. Despotic powers are fast falling into the hands of one man. This must be stopped, and the way to do it is to re-federalize the government, beginning with return of the states to the senate.
