"I'm fearing that they have gone a long way and may even be out of the country,"I suspect they're close to home. You simply can't accumulate sufficient cash to carry out of the country in order to live a life of affluence wherever you go, for long. Using anything but cash, anywhere, will give your location away.
I would put a watch on daddy's cash acquisitions, and then follow him around.

This isn't a case like Marc Rich or some other fabulously wealthy Wall Street type. Most countries where an American fugitive might flee wouldn't want to deal with a dirtbag family like this. If these people end up in a country with no extradition treaty with the U.S., they'll probably get sent back on an empty trash barge anyway.
It's worth noting that the "no extradition treaty" angle is probably meaningless. If the U.S. government wants to get you back here, you're going to be sent back.

Pfft. You use business accounts to transfer the money around the globe, or even a bunch of wire transfers to Mexico using the name "Jose Gonzalez," or you go to New York, buy diamonds wholesale and sell them in Rotterdam or Tel Aviv.
Etc., etc.
A little forethought and you can easily move hundred of thousands or millions of dollars over a period of several months.
