Democrats kept Hillary as protected as possible during debate

WASHINGTON -- In what's sure to be another ratings washout, the Democratic National Committee held it's third debate on a weekend evening, this time also pitting themselves against a major NFL game.

The timing -- the Saturday before Christmas and in competition with the Jets' 19-16 win over the Cowboys in Dallas -- seemingly calculated to keep Hillary Clinton as protected as possible while assuring her challengers remain underexposed, critics noted.

At one point, Clinton came back late to the stage after an overly long bathroom break.

The moment left her two competitors cooling their heels at their podiums -- a perfect illustration for the Twitter hashtag that had already started circulating hours before the debate: #hidinghillary.

"They are actively discouraging people from watching by doing it on the Saturday before Christmas. Advantage, Hillary," Katie Packer Gage, former deputy campaign manager to Mitt Romney, told The Post. "No one hears an alternative to her. Most of America thinks there is no real primary on [the Democratic] side."

Only 8.5 million people watched the previous Democratic debate Nov. 14. By contrast, viewership for the Republicans’ prime-time debates have ranged from 13.5 million to 24 million.

The highlight of Saturday night's debate came early, with Bernie Sanders apologizing to Clinton in his opening statement for accessing her confidential voter file and admitted his staff was "wrong" for taking advantage of a database breach.

The next and fourth debate is scheduled for Jan. 17, a Sunday night.

The New York Post doesn’t know the difference between ‘its’ and ‘it’s’?

Had a brief chuckle this morning. Turned on This Week with George Stephanopoulos. He was just finishing an interview with Chris Christie and said, 'Next, we will talk with a representative from the Clinton campaign.'

I thought: Another one? George, you do such a good job of that yourself that you qualify for a paycheck from them as well as ABC.

When you are as full of it as she is, it takes longer.

At the end of the debate, George was talking about how well Hillary did and that she won the debate hands down. Meanwhile the rest of the country (and world for that matter) saw Bernie as the clear winner in the debate. I don’t care for either, but Hillary bombed in the debate, and failed to show bad up when it started after the break.

Didn’t watch any of the Dem debate, nor most of the last Pubbie debate, but Trump does seem to be a major topic for both.

He just smiles as the other candidates have to spend money to get that much publicity. One newsie a couple of weeks ago said his campaign had only spent about $300k.

[Jeb’s has spent between $25 and $75 million, depending on the report, and he hasn’t moved up in most polls.]

Maybe she had to change her mind but took a lil longer than she thought it would cause she had no handlers to tell her what she should change it to.

The rat party should hire TRUMP to build a wall around her - protect her from the voters who should happen to look for her and want access. Perhaps they might devise a way to make Mexico pay for it. Is EVERYONE covering the wide backside of this hen? Good for Bernie in that he is unafraid to attempt to sock her down. He may be an old fa*t but he remains a true fighter in every sense of the word. And after being introduced to Martin M (not much known about the man and still have a problem remembering the name much of the time) It is found that he is not particularly liked either...Reminder of Huntsman the faux GOP candidate.

Rats and the winos both parties are fighting to hang onto that honey pot and keep the gold ring. VOTERS are angry and VOTERS plan to make their voices heard. Both parties have a megaphone which is to the VOTERS benefit.

GO TRUMP
GO CRUZ
YOU WIN OR WE LOSE!

The Dem field of contestants is a stark reminder of how far the party has fallen.

How sure are you that he does not already get a check, regularly.
