Hopefully. He's done a lot of damage so far. I'm more than a little concerned as to his determination to destroy either the firearm(s) or the person owning it/them if they won't let go of them.

Look at England.

Look at Australia.

Look at what has happened to the military leaders who haven't appreciated his interference with their standards, of training, battle doctrine, and defense.

They're all getting retirement checks or in jail.

The current ones are clicking their heels to him. Including the Commandant of USMC OKing women in combat units. I mean, that is, what if he sics the military on us?

“I’m more than a little concerned...”

Years ago a cartoon featured an eagle with talons outstretched descending toward a mouse which had the middle “finger” of its right “hand” raised toward it in defiance. Hundreds of thousands of America’s front-line troops, who were dedicated to up close and personal closure with the enemy, offered that same upraised finger to those who opposed them. Some while defending positions or attacking enemy held positions alone regardless of staggering odds against their success. [Search Sgt. John “Manila John” Basilone as one example. A Medal of Honor winner from the Battle for Guadalcanal (running from position to position alone manning machine guns therein against a Japanese onslaught) who was killed due to enemy mortar fire on Iwo Jima.] Others were wounded or killed by enemy fire or accident while engaged in rear-echelon duties. But they were there and the causes they fought for were just and honorable.

England? Australia? Losing a job due to political intrigues resulting in a firing or imprisonment? An officer responding to lawful orders from the Commander in Chief? (He is bound to follow lawful orders or resign his commission.)

“I mean, that is, what if he sics the military on us?” He would necessarily need a Constitutionally grounded reason to do so or that would contravene an officer’s oath to uphold the Constitution. An order that if followed would once again begin a true and justifiable uprising in this nation.

It appears to me you are concerned about death or the manner of dying, or possibly the well-being of loved ones once you are gone as those things relate to tyranny resisted, foreign or domestic. Fear of a bullet between the eyes mentality? A loss of creature comforts maybe? A life lost to a lessor cause? Not concerned regarding a loss of self respect or personal honor standing against the assault of those who would deem you and yours as slaves to their will? You would submit to those who would deny yours and others natural rights? Recoil in fear from their threat to your freedom and very life?

I intend to honor this oath which I swore to: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same. That I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.” Until such time as those orders from the President or his officers contradict that which is contained in the document mentioned in the first sentence of the above oath. My minor concerns hold no weight in a debate as to whether I will uphold that oath and believe me when I state there are more of us than they would want or expect to meet on the field.

Semper Fidelis
