RE: Something like that SHOULD be a career ender for Steve Harvey, and I’ve always liked the guy. But he needs to stay on ‘Family Feud’.
After watching several past Ms. Universes, I believe that the tradition is to say : “THE RUNNER-UP IS ...” and then announced the name.
Steve apparently mistook the name on the card for the winner.
He was not informed.
If I’m ever a contestant on Family Feud, and I’m stumped for an answer, I’m saying, “Columbia!”
A competent organization would have had somebody put the guy through a rehearsal or two, until his handler was convinced he would do it right.
