Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Monday that the 2016 GOP nomination contest is likely to come down to a one-on-one battle between himself and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.
'Ultimately, itâs probably going to come down to me against him,' Mr. Trumpsaid on NBCâs 'Today' program. 'I have a very, very big lead right now. You know I like to win, and you know I win. Letâs see what happens.'
Mr. Trump had been asked whether there was any sort of deal with Mr. Cruz where the two candidates would avoid criticizing one another. Mr. Trump said there was not a deal, that the two 'ust get along' and that Mr. Cruz has backed him on issues like illegal immigration.
Ultimately, Iâm sure [the] peace will end, because at some point weâre going to have to go after each other, Mr. Trump said.

One seems to take criticisms of policy positions personally, the other doesn’t.
NO TRUMP, NO!
The longer the Trump & Cruz campaigns maintain their “truce”, the more combined delegates they’ll be able to accumulate. If they have a critical mass of delegates, they can use that as a partial rationale for taking over the Party’s national operations. Purges of the RINOs who have been destroying the Party can then begin.
My prediction is that Trump will likely be the Presidential nominee. Will he select Cruz as his running mate? Who know...but Cruz may be in a position to help him avoid picking a RINO such as Kasich as his running mate and, instead select someone such as Cruz or Sessions.

Trump remains fake on this.
He has followed Cruz completely on this issue, and its all in the record.
But he knows that only Cruz has the path to the oval office. As the race goes on, he cannot avoid a one on one debate with Cruz, that he simply cannot overcome.
.
.
Trump cannot out show Cruz.
One on one, Cruz is a mountain above a valley.
Everything Trump has learned about the workings of our national leadership he learned by studying Cruz.
Everything Trump has learned about the workings of our national leadership he learned by studying Cruz.

Possibly...but at least he’s taking the lessons to heart.
NO TRUMP, NO!
OH CHARLES, OH!
Methinks Trump doesn’t mind Cruz too much because Cruz looks like he would also turn this country around if he were President. Of course that assumes Trump is in there only because he loves America and wants to turn her around, which presumption I see little to rebut. However, there’s still the concern that Cruz may fail against Hillary whereas Trump would most likely beat her up pretty good.
If Cruz won, I don’t think Trump would accept a VP job. I think he’d go back to what he does best in the business world. He’s always been in charge and would never take a back seat. However, if Trump won, I could see Cruz being VP and stepping into the Presidency if Trump had a good-to-great term leading to a possible sixteen years of recovery in America.
For that reason alone, one could hope for a Trump victory.
Bull! Trump was playing around with the political game years before Cruz ever came on the scene. Cruz was a little nobody on the public payroll in Texas when Trump was building skyscrapers in New York. If anybody has done any learning, it has been Cruz learning from Trump.
Agreed.
66% are opposing the GOPe.
“But he knows that only Cruz has the path to the oval office.”
I don’t think Cruz can win, even if he got the nomination. He’ll never get crossover voters. A republican can’t win without them.
Trump is the only hope we have...
“One on one, Cruz is a mountain above a valley.”
When Cruz went one-on-one with Rubio during the debate, I did not see the absolute mastery of debating skills all the Cruz supporters swoon over, and Rubio is an easy target. It just was not there.
Cruz is probably nervous over Trump calling him out for voting for the Obama agenda twice, something that a conservative as rare and pure as he makes out he is would not do.
Well said.
.
We enjoy seeing you show yourself to be the idiot that you are.
Why don’t you ask Alan Dershowitz, or any of the SCOTUS judges about Cruz’ debating skills?
You are talking through the wrong hole.

Building hotels does not compare to Cruz’ accomplishments.
Almost anyone can build a hotel.
You must not be paying any attention.
“Building hotels does not compare to Cruzâ accomplishments.”
Help me out here... What were Cruz’s accomplishments? So far... I’m not anti Cruz, but I cann’t think of any...
It should be one candidate's policies compared to the other candidate's policies, and let the people decide which policies they want. Cruz will do that but Trump will criticize Cruz's religion, his birthplace, the possibility Cruz's hair may be a wig, and he (Trump) wears tailor made clothes, and he has real gold fixtures in his plane/house and Cruz does not.
Trump is such a picky little weasel of a man he has to tear down others to make himself feel "great". He embellishes, exaggerates to the point he is lying and he does not care. He will make this country an even larger laughing stock to the world than it is now with Obama.
