Apocalyptic scenes of Damascus suburb obliterated by violent clashes (RT EXCLUSIVE DRONE FOOTAGE)
Russia Today ^ | December 23rd, 2015

The Jobar neighborhood of Damascus is the epicenter of some of the fiercest fighting in Syria with Islamist rebels refusing to give up their only stronghold. Once densely populated, the area has now been completely obliterated, RT’s Murad Gadziev reports.

Most of the pre-conflict population has fled the rebel-held neighborhood of Jobar in the eastern suburb of Ghouta in Damascus, while fighting between the Syrian army and rebel groups has devastated the suburb over the past years.

Before the conflict in Syria erupted in 2011, the neighborhood was home to some 300,000 residents, most of whom were Sunni Muslims. The suburb contained a number of ancient landmarks, most notably the Green Synagogue, the oldest Jewish synagogue in the world. It also contained the Grand Jobar Mosque in addition to the tomb of the Prophet Elijah. Jobar also housed ancient baths that were built during Ottoman times.

Now totally destroyed, as can be seen in RT’s exclusive drone footage, Jobar is just one of the many testaments to the ongoing brutality and civilian suffering which has taken place during the Syrian war. The rebels who are holed up in Jobar and moving via underground tunnels don’t belong to any single group, the Syrian military told RT’s Murad Gadziev.

It looks like the fulfillment of Biblical Prophesy.

Nothing but rubble as far as the eye can see.

And we hit 1 million ‘refugees’ entering Europe this year alone. Chickens coming home to roost.

If you’re going to wipe out a city, use Nukes. Russia said they would if they had, too. Good plan, Putin!

Damascus was a charming city before Obama and Erdogan decided to help.

"If you’re going to wipe out a city, use Nukes"

Somebody did a pretty good job of it with artillery and mortars.

Thousands of tons of ordinance to do that damage.

The oldest continuously inhabited city in the world.

The oldest synagogue.

It all must be knocked down as our overpopulated planet murders and scrounges for the last fossil fuels. A truly apocalyptic scene.

Wow—it looks like many German cities at the end of World War II.

"Wow—it looks like many German cities at the end of World War II."

Until I viewed that video I didn't have a full appreciation of the scale of the fighting.

It looks like it was carpet bombed for a month, day and night.

It looks like film I saw of Dresden in September of 1945.

Isaiah 17 King James Version

17 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

Most amazing of all, this is NOWHERE in US or Western Media.

It took a long time to do that much damage, and we've seen nothing of it.

Backed by President Ovomit, not by those that have learned a thing or two since 1975.

“The suburb contained a number of ancient landmarks, most notably the Green Synagogue, the oldest Jewish synagogue in the world.”

Wait a cotton pickin’ minute here. You mean ASSAD allowed a Jewish Synagogue there in old Syria?
How many Synagogues are there in Saudi Arabia? In the Gulf States?
Next you’ll try to tell me there are 11 Synagogues in Iran or something,,,,, oh wait.

Sunnis suck.

In the Gaza strip they tried to show the same thing saying Israel was inhumane BUT, the damage in Gaza was very limited compared to what the Arabs do to each other on a daily basis.

I was waiting for that one. I almost did a 3 . . . 2 . . . 1

If I’m a troll, I’m a troll, but I think it’s part of the problem.

Looking at that video. It needs to be the background of Trump commercial against Hillary. And also against every repub who has pushed for this “Libya, act II” war.

Obama and Hillary should literally face war crime trials for this. I’ll be surprised if they don’t in 20 or 30 years.
