Where is the kid's dad? Where is the wife's husband?

He's still in Dallas. They're estranged.

The local authorities have stated that, so far as they can determine, the father had no involvement in this latest episode (mother and son were living in Southern California).

Actually, he violated his PROBATION .. he was never sentenced to prison .. so he couldn’t be on “parole”.

Hmmmmm ..?? The parents are very wealthy.

It’s very well known that Mexico runs on bribes.

I think DAD could have wired money to Mexico .. to keep son there.

Now, can we file charges against the DAD too ..????

Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson said he was told by U.S. Marshals that an attorney representing the Couches filed a "legal writ," to prevent the pair from leaving Mexico.

Flee! Flee! you stupid sack of excrement. You will only make yourself tired.

This just makes it worse when you have to pay the piper.

Those pigs are bargaining. They want Mexico to declare "we won't return them unless you guarantee no punishment for either of them".

That's *exactly* what they're looking for.

I don't see whiny momma having enough pull with Mexico to make them ante up a poker chip.

I think this is the point where delusion is finally going to meet reality, and the idiot stupid witch is gonna find out that she's been sheltered from her own stupidity for too long.

The judge who “sentenced” him to probation is now comfortably retired too. Gee, amazing how that works out!

"Jalisco state prosecutor Eduardo Almaguer Ramirez said U.S. authorities knew the mother and son were in Puerto Vallarta because of a phone call to Domino's Pizza, The Associated Press reported."

So let me get this straight -- two America citizens, called a Domino's pizza, in Mexico, and somehow, that communication is being tracked so we know exactly where they are.

Under what authority are those communications monitored -- Warrant on the phone numbers? Secondly, if we're capable of THIS, how could a terrorist act occur on our soil?

“Couch?!” Shouldn’t they change that name to
“Davenport??” “Couch” is sort of a low class name for a
settee, isn’t it? :o)

I would guess that the cops or Feds were keeping an eye on their cell phones. Most of the major carriers will let you make calls in Mexico (and Canada). Depending on your plan, you may or may not get hit with hefty roaming charges.

If you're on the run, the last thing you want to do is even turn on your cell phone... better off just tossing it in a lake and getting a prepaid phone or something.

Probation was too strict for the poor little rich boy. He should have gotten off with a hug from the judge

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, there are regular mandatory visits to the probation office, mandatory drug testing and maybe worst of all to a teenager, there is a curfew, usually 8:00 P.M.

He surely thinks it’s an awful price to pay just for killing several people.

Until he is 19, he is still under Ju-Vee rules:

Oh just made it. He is now 19. His mom is in line for about 10 years. That is real justice.

The Maldives looks nice (except for the danger of deportation if Argentina takes over)

A video surfaced showing him committing a probation violation. Mommy took him south of the border.

The assumption is that they used the same cell phones they had stateside. Roaming charges along with call destinations would have shown up at the phone company. They should have bought disposable ones in Mexico and dumped their US phones. I bet the kid had to have his iPhone.

As to terrorists, we don't know who they are, let alone what cell phones they're using. They also speak in code. As in "my uncle is ill - the doctor says he might recover in a week", might be code for "equipment for a terror attack will be in place within 7 days". Or the guy could just have a sick uncle.
