What Russia's been doing in Ukraine since you stopped paying attention

It didn't take long for western media to lose focus. After Russia began its military campaign to prop up Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the world largely stopped paying attention to Ukraine. It shouldn't have.

Over the last few months, Russian President Vladimir Putin has been busy trying to deepen the quagmire he created in Eastern Europe. A United Nations' report released in November detailed the degree to which his proxy war in Ukraine has turned the country into Russia's killing field. More than 9,000 people have died since the spring of 2014 after Russia-backed rebels began fighting Kiev for independence, with some 20,000 people wounded. Between Aug. 16 and Nov. 15 alone, 47 civilians were killed and 131 were injured. At 9,000, the death toll in Ukraine is approaching the 13,000 killed during the war in Kosovo.

Nothing Russia does is less than the U.S. does, and nothing the U.S. does is less than Russia.

Ever had a brown bear in the back seat of your car? Not that you need to, but did you ever? That’s a minor example of what the Russians do when they need to do.

Surprisingly, Ukies need to do what’s good for them too. They are inept, EU won’t help them any more, and we shouldn’t jig up the Ukies any more - it’ll only work to their detriment.

They are inept,

The "Ukies" have evidently killed more Russian soldiers than we lost in Iraq, and have stopped your gay lover Putin from doing anything other than cowardly using cease fire periods to force Ukrainian forces to withdraw so he can carry out terrorist attacks like some Muslim.

The Russkies have more tanks in Ukraine than most European countries have in their entire armies, and still can't do much more than die.

Clancy’s last (real) book presented a real President stopping the Russian aggression in Ukraine.

Too bad we live in the real world where Presidents have no character.

I’ll wait for you to say the same when Obama is out of office.

After that you may just wanna make up for the loss by chasing and violating goats. Enjoy meantime.

I don't understand the meaning of that comment. My suspicion is that you're accusing me of being Pro-Obama, because I am not a member of the Putin fan club that looks the other way as the 'Russian Orthodox' dictator with a mistress orders his soldiers to torture Christian pastors and Catholic priests to death, as is documented in Ukraine.

After that you may just wanna make up for the loss by chasing and violating goats.

Like Putin's allies the Iranians, whom he is aiding and abetting with nuclear technology? You are not smart.

Russia has given a blogger 5 years for youtube clips, some just over protests of the local busline.

Russia is also prosecuting a librarian who had some book by a possibly controversial Ukrainian author:

In other words, people are being prosecuted for thought crimes.

Maybe Russia needs more challenge in Mid-East. I am fine with Russians single-handedly destroying Jihadis and Turks while dialing down in Ukraine. Killing Jihadis shouldn't be construed as earning brownie points to step onto her near-abroad. Not every Slavic neighbor of Russia loves her back. It is more than mere NATO power-grab. Try to be popular with neighbors.

Those aren’t “rebels” those are Russian regulars, particularly Spetsnaz special forces. The Ukrainian army is not properly trained or logistically supported by the Poroshenko government. Lots of good Ukrainian kids killed due to corruption and bad leadership. Somewhere Ivan Mazepa weeps.

Russia is allies with Hezbollah and Syria, who both aided Iran in killing Marines? Really? And Hezbollah with their hero child killer Kantar and Syria of course, transports Iranian missiles to be shot at Israel.

The Assads allowed the Jihadis have camps and attack Americans from Syria during the US invasion, killed the Lebanese Christian Prime Minister and harbored Saddam’s brother until they were forced to give them up.

Maybe it is too bad that Ukraine gave up nuclear weapons so Russia commits its rape.

I’m fine if the Ukraine had their nuclear weapons and used it against this rapist invasion of Russian Terrorists.

Russia is not fighting ISIS to any great extent and Assad is the biggest buyer of ISIS oil.

Russia has way more risk than other European countries of going Islamic. So, the big bravado by the Putinistas.

Islamic Russia and it may be that one day, has attacked a much more Christian nation in Ukraine. Ukraine doesn’t have to worry about the Jihadist bs on their own soil like Russia does and ISIS is full of Russian speakers.

Seeing how Russia can become Islamic at much more risk than most other countries, enjoy your thoughts. http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/2005/08/predicting-a-majority-muslim-russia
