Interesting article, but it doesn’t debunk the Iraqi WMD meme. It’s a lot of conjecture (well thought out perhaps) with no evidence debunking anything.


The Bush admin outright stated that Saddam had gotten rid of his WMD but had been playing a ruse to seem like he could start up production or had secret stashes. Also, Syria and Iraq were hostile to each other.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not in any way saying the WMDs were whisked away to Syria. But there is evidence that it could have happened, and the author doesn't debunk the evidence. He just asserts that it isn't logical. But even if Iraq and Syria were enemies, that doesn't preclude the possibility. Strange things happen in war.

There were WMDs found in Iraq, and the Congressional report detailed what and where. It wasn't much, but for a regime that agreed to have none, it was a violation of the cease fire.
