I live in El Valle de Anton, 27 KM north of the InterAmerican highway, in the province of Cocle. If you get up this way, I can offer a suggestion or two.
A cocoa farm "a few hours outside the city" could mean, literally, anywhere. It's only 7 hours to the Costa Rican border (g!). Not much to see at a cocoa planting, too (trust me, I trade the stuff on ICE; coffee plantations offer much more for the visitor to see, and Panama has a BUNCH of those. Recommend the ones in Chiriqui province, near Boquete, especially!)
Things are going quite well. Just finished my latest book, looking around for a publisher (e-publishing is a VERY different animal from print publishing, take my word for it!)
FReegards!
My wife now tells me it is at the top of the Miraflores Visitor’s Center in the Miraflores Locks in the Panama Canal Zone.
She even found this:
She said the buffet was INCREDIBLE on the Sunday she was there.
