CES has only officially been open for like 5 minutes, and already we've found something too awesome not to share immediately: a cooking robot from a startup called Sereneti that can handle everything for you, from cooking to stirring to adding ingredients at the right time.

Can it clean up?
Was this article written by, like, a thirteen-year-old girl? Because its awesome.
But we need 20 million more illiterate unskilled laborers!!!
At night while you’re sleeping...it will come out and try to julienne your throat.
Robot cooked food? No thanks, I’ve eaten enough hospital food to only imagine what it would taste like. Cooking is an art. You need all your senses to create something special let alone edible. Even something simple like scrambled eggs require good timing and seasoning. Can the robot taste while the meal is cooking and adjust seasonings as needed? This is a solution looking for a problem.
Where do I send the shipping address?
The local Providence hospital has been running a healthy cooking class, almost every month.
The head nutritionist and the head chefs demo all kinds of in house creations and give the recipes out. I’ve learned a great deal and took some of the advice. I seem to be feeling better overall.
My wife found out about it somehow early last year and we haven’t missed a class. Ultra picky me has cleaned every plate .
Totally agree - the first requirement of a good cook is that he/she has good taste and that actually tastes what he’s cooking.
Blindly following a recipe is hospital food.
Yeah, I gave kind of a cheap shot at hospital chefs. Most of the time they are restrained by nutritional requirements which can remove a lot of flavor from food.
My mom spent most of last year in the hospital and lost a lot of weight because the food was either bland or bad tasting.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying your classes and eating healthy!
Is that Chinese for “Lydia, go get me a Sammich?”
There’s a couple of clear problems for it to solve. People who lack the time/ patience/ knowledge to cook can use this. Plus upscale it for commercial use. It won’t replace good cooks, but subsistence home cooks and short order cooks for sure.
Here’s a link to a bunch of ‘em, but the one you posted is my favorite!

Prepared frozen food seems to be a paradigm many people are comfortable with. They tend to be more expensive than preparation from scratch, and often high in sodium/sugar, but you can’t beat the convenience.
Can you say, “New Orleans Hooker”?
I knew you could.
