Nothing in beneath the left... But this from our side?
anyway...
The most noteworthy bit is Paul floating the idea that "natural-born" must mean something distinct from hereditary citizenship or else the Constitution wouldn't specifically mention it. Right, there is a distinction - with naturalized citizenship, but Rand's got an agenda here so he's going to read the clause in the most crabbed way possible. The irritating irony of all this is that none of Cruz's detractors actually have the balls to file suit to challenge him, knowing that if they win the backlash on the right to their own candidacy would be ferocious and if they lose they'd forfeit this cheap line of attack on Cruz. Not even Trump, who otherwise crows about how good he is at suing people, will own the idea of suing Cruz himself, preferring to warn instead about what Democrats might do. Rand does the same here. If this issue is so serious that the GOP might lose the election by having its nominee thrown off the ballot, Trump/Rand etc should declare that they're simply doing their duty as loyal members of the party by challenging him in court.
Well, at least we don’t have to put up with his sorry butt in the debate.
Go away Rand, take Carly with ya
Rand Paul is naturally desperate for attention. He gets it from his dad.
The laws of Canada govern it’s citizens. The laws of the US govern US citizens. To US law, it does not matter if any other country says a person is their citizen. US law does not recognize dual citizenship.
Under Title 8 section 1401 of US Law, the individuals who are born as US citizens and do not require naturalization are described is subsections A through G.
I’m sick of this mickey mouse crap. No one is discussing the issues anymore. Just cowardly innuendo.
Says Mr. Kiddie Table. Oh wait. He is too smug for the kiddie table.
Shaddap pipsqueak, you’re at the kids table.
Cruz is a natural born Canadian...now that’s funny!!! LOL
They know that no court would give them standing to sue.
So he didn’t just pop out of a Canada Dry soda can in an alley in Toronto then?
Remember how these buttholes went after Obama about his questionable citizenship, false birth certificate and bogus Social Security numbers?
ME NEITHER !
So according to paul if cruz is “a natural born canadian”, does that make Obama “a natural born kenyan”?
A constitutional law professor at at Fordham University says U.S. Sen. Ted Cruzâs ânatural-born citizenâ claim only works if he ironically adopts an interpretation of the U.S. Constitution favored by liberals.
Thomas Lee of Fordham Law School wrote an op-ed for the Los Angeles Times on Sunday saying the Texas Republican must use a âliving Constitutionâ theory to convince voters he is eligible to be commander in chief. Cruz considers himself an originalist.

Lee said there are two principles an originalist must use to determine whether or not a person is a natural-born citizen.
U.S. Jus soli, or the law of soil: A child was a citizen of the sovereign who ruled the land where he or she was born.
Jus sanguinis, or the law of blood: A childâs citizenship was determined by the parentsâ allegiance, regardless of place of birth. The law of blood would have applied to the fatherâs place of birth in 1788.
The professor said that only by allowing modern cultural norms to influence his reading of the Constitution, as a âliving Constitutionalistâ would do, can Cruz deflect âbirtherâ-type attacks on his presidential eligibility.
âItâs a neat irony: The most conservative constitutional interpreters must find Cruz ineligible to be president,â Lee wrote. âLiberals must grin and bear him. Cruz himself purports to embrace originalism as the correct view of the Constitution. To be faithful to his understanding of what the Constitution means, the senator may have to disqualify himself.â
Cruz has outright rejected such attacks since Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump brought them up Jan. 5.

Paul is a curly, perm headed has been. Hang it up, Rand.
Interesting to note that Rand Paul was silent concerning McCains citizenship (born in Panama).
Ted Cruz was born on December 22, 1970,[3][4] in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to parents Eleanor Elizabeth (Darragh) Wilson and Rafael Bienvenido Cruz.[5][6][7] At the time of his birth, Cruz' parents were working in the oil business as owners of a seismic-data processing firm for oil drilling.[6][8][9][10][11] Cruz has said, "I'm the son of two mathematicians/computer programmers."[12] The family moved to Texas in 1974.[13]
Rafael Cruz was born in Cuba, and his father was from the Canary Islands in Spain. Ted Cruz's mother was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and is of three quarters Irish and one quarter Italian ancestry.[14][15] His father left Cuba in 1957 to attend the University of Texas at Austin, obtained political asylum in the United States after his four-year student visa expired, and became a Canadian citizen during his eight-year stay in that country.[16] Rafael Cruz ultimately became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2005.[6][17][18][19] His mother earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Rice University in the 1950s.[20] Eleanor and Rafael Cruz divorced in 1997.[21]
Cruz had two older half-sisters from his father's previous marriage, Miriam Ceferina Cruz and Roxana Lourdes Cruz. Miriam, who had several brushes with the law during the 1990s and 2000s including charges of theft and public intoxication, died of a prescription drug overdose on January 10, 2011.[21] Roxana, who has declined media interviews, is a physician in Texas.[21][22][23] Cruz also had a half-brother, Michael Wilson (1960--1965), from his mother's previous marriage. He first learned of him from his mother during his teenage years.[23]
