For the first time in the wild, caustic and bruising Republican campaign, Mr. Trump was in the position that so many who have tried to challenge him had found themselves in: flustered, frustrated and unable to regain his footing.
I warned the Trump camp.

His silly attacks against Cruz over the past few weeks focused voters' attention on Cruz.

With Trump and Cruz standing next to each other, there was no way that Trump could win in a side-by-side comparison.

And voila.

It's going to be this way from here on out. Cruz, Trump and Rubio.

And the results will be the same.

“[Trump[ frustrated and unable to regain his footing.”

Trump must have, since he won the debate.
