I believe disclosure of the winners is required.
“Daughter? Oh, boy...he’d better hire a bodyguard. I can just imagine some nefarious creature attempting to kidnap said daughter and releasing her only if they fork over all the money.
People nowadays are desperate and will do ANYTHING for money.”
I agree. Theres a lot of real greedy people out there. I’d better do whatever it takes to protect my future fiancee, whats her name.
It may be (depends on state law), but he could temporarily change his name for the media nonsense then change it back when he’s done with it all.
I fear, that even with the best of intentions, human nature (i.e. greed and jealousy) will quickly change these plans. The best outcome for them will be to swiftly make provisos for charities and spendthrift-type trusts. Money for the needy charities should be defined to a limited yearly budget controlled by a non-involved trustee who can only be over-ruled on a gift destination, not the amount. The spendthrift trust would only allow spending to a certain level except for medical and catastrophic incidences. Publicize these limits to a degree and then live within them. Every family member will have to have an emergency beacon on them at all times and a security response for the bad times.
Here you can wit 180 days I think it is to claim your winnings. That’s your best bet. By then all the furor has died down, the news has moved on to something else and you just become a footnote.....if at all.
I wonder how many satellite trucks and paparazzi are staking out their house already?
Well, ya...he be buyin’ fer sure.
Yes, I’m fairly healthy but I don’t know about 29 years from now, if I make that far, I’d be 99 years old.
Then you have something to live for.
