Just One Funny Thing About That Lawyer Filing the ‘Birther’ Lawsuit Against Ted Cruz
Independent Journal Review ^ | January 16, 2016 | Mike Miller

Posted on 01/16/2016 10:17:03 AM PST by Isara

During Thursday night’s Republican debate, Donald Trump warned that sooner or later, a lawsuit would be filed challenging Ted Cruz’s constitutional eligibility to become President of the United States.

The lawsuit came “sooner” – the very next day.

It get’s even better: the Houston lawyer who filed the suit in federal court in Texas has been suspended from practicing law in two different states.

As reported on PJ Media, Newton B. Scwartz, Sr. engaged in legal matters in both Pennsylvania and Louisiana without having been admitted to do so – nor did he seek temporary permission from either state.

In Louisiana, he was also charged with fraud, deceit, misrepresentation and improperly providing financial assistance to a client.

According to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, he consented to suspension from practicing law in the state.

Trump has suggested that the Democrats will file suit against Cruz should he become the Republican nominee.

On Tuesday, the Cruz campaign circulated a lengthy document disputing challenges to his eligibility.

You can go after this lawyer all you want but there are others waiting in the wings to file suit. As Trump said Cruz needs to get this straightened out.

Right. Just create a new site called change2016.gov and post Cruz’s birth certificate showing he was born in Hawaii.

Hmmm, maybe Trumpsters are Bernsters want the same thing? They seem to be chanelling the same anger about (gasp) Goldman Sachs!

Perhaps, as happened in all the challenges made to the candidacy of the Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut, these suits may be dismissed, because the applicants “lack standing”.

Sounds like a perfectly good defense to me, and the precedent is well established.

They are lefties, they'll file suit against Cruz because they heard he eats crackers in bed. It doesn't reflect well on Trump to be on the same page with Alan Grayson.

No, that is not correct.

It IS straightened out.

Trump knows what he’s saying is a bunch of hooey.

So does L. Tribe know it’s a bunch of hooey.

They are yanking everybody’s chain who wants to have theirs yanked.

I don’t.

I know better.

Lawsuits are filed all of the time that cannot get standing to be heard and are not on a topic that will be heard.

These junk or political suits do NOT make it. Their filings are legion, massive in number, but go nowhere.

That’s what this is.

When people say that Cruz himself ought to go to court and get it straightened out, that, too is a total crock.

Cruz has no legal theory under which he can go in and demand a legal ruling and get one.

He would be laughed out of any court.

Especially since he’s known for his legal work before the Supreme Court itself as Solicitor General of TX and his brilliance in law school.

And those insisting he do so, are full of it, and they know it.

Your post is full of nothing. Please put something substantial in it. How is it straightened out?

Maybe you should contact the Cruz campaign and suggest that he double down and say "What's good for Goldman Sachs is good for America!"

Trump needs to get his spousal abuse allegation straightened out.

His attorney said it’s not against the law to rape you wife, so it couldn’t have been literally, criminally rape.

If Trump is the nominee, you can be sure Democrats are going after those divorce papers. And it could be real tough for him going after Hillary/Bill/War on Women etc.

To be clear, I don’t think Trump did anything wrong. But he needs to get it straightened out, maybe get a ruling on it or something.

I hate to say it but the damage has already been done to the Cruz campaign. The seed has been planted in tens of millions of Americans that he’s a Canadian. I put the blame squarely on Cruz. Did he not think this whole issue wouldn’t be a problem? Or did be think he could slickmeister his way through this. Sorry Ted you’re a Republican not a Democrat. No pass for you.

Eligibility is only determined at the time of the electoral college. If Cruz is deemed by the electoral college or congress to be ineligible, then the vice president elect takes office until such time as the president elect is determined to be qualified.

If you birthers cared so much about the constitution, then maybe you should try reading the 20th amendment. Don’t go crying to the courts. They have no legitimate authority or jurisdiction and these lawyers have no standing.

Always remember that lawyers vote Democrat virtually en masse. They thrive mightily under liberal Dem rule...plus the last thing they want is tort reform...and they historically donate heavily to the Dem candidates.

If there's anything during this primary campaign season that has to do with mouthpieces of any kind sticking their fingers into politics, that's when I look for their liberal connections and bios to see what mischief they're up to.

That's why I'm ecstatic to support Trump...unlike Cruz and Rubio HE ISN'T A LAWYER!

That’s nothing. Many of the ‘doctors’ performing abortions at PP clinics have suspended licenses.

Update your database, Trump is pro-life and has told how that happened. Trump is genuine on that issue.
