I doubt that Murdoch approves of either Cruz or Trump. He is probably rooting for Rubio or Bush but does not want to hitch his wagon to a loser.

They don’t fear Cruz at all and Murdoch here is telling you exactly why. Cruz has got no support outside of single issue social conservative voters. No way TPA Teddy rolls into MI/OH/PA and takes them against an Anti-TPA Dem. No way Cruz’s Holy Roller routine wins over Generation Kardashian.
Cruz simply does not have a path to 270 EV and everybody but his true believers can see it now. Wake up and smell the coffee, FRiend.

Voting for President is for the most part, not based upon intelligence on the part of the voter, but based upon emotion. After eight years of Bush, the Democrats could have ran BoBo the Clown and he would have won (maybe they did run Bobo).
This time around a republican is poised to win. But out of the field of Republicans, the voters are also looking for a grown up. Someone with balls and will kick to kick a few too. Hence Trump.
I support Trump, but also like Ted Cruz. I have said this once and will say it again. Cruz is not elect-able this time around, not with Trump in the running. Trump projects that bigger than life aura—he’s done things, he’s built things, he provided real jobs to real people. No other candidate running can say that. None. Whether you agree with Trump or not, he is the Big Man on Campus. The Kardashian crown will vote for him just to see what happens. Blue Collar democrats will vote for him because he projects bad-ass and wants to create jobs. And a Majority of republicans will vote for Trump in the general because they just want to win something.
Trump projects the father figure that will protect you against those nasty terrorists. Trump will get the black vote cause he’s the real bling. Hispanics will vote for Trump cause they want to stay working. (illegals will vote for Hillary/Sanders whether they know it or not).
If Cruz’s charisma can barely fill a pizza parlor, how is he going to win a general. Trump is running for the general right now and barely considers the top contenders a nuisance. Cruz is running for Iowa. And Iowa he may well get. Trump is running for the whole country. Most regular folks just want a winner, they don’t want to strap on the armor of Christ to get there. That’s why Cruz will not win the nomination.
On a side note, Trump may not win the nomination either. The way the GOPe is “fixing” the convention, only those approved by the King Makers get chosen.
Oh,. and btw, Phyllis Shaftly didn’t seem too bothered by Trump’s NY values when she decided to endorse him. The Queen of the Conservatives isn’t she? And Cruz supporters want to ignore that? Pffft!!

Trump has promised in no uncertain terms to bring illegals back into the country on an expedited basis RAPIDLY as LEGAL immigrants, effectively future Democrats. That much is on the record.

I also like Cruz and he was my guy for many years. But I was deeply disappointed in his performance during TPA. Cruz is young and I think the Nixon comparison is apt. He’s got time to mature and run again.
For now its Trump or bust. He’s the only one who can smash the Dem/MSM identity politics template and stop the invasion. If we don’t stop that, nothing else matters.
