Side bar, item!!! What has happened to the “Forum” layout on Free Republic? I enjoyed it ten times better when an post “header” outlined the topic or issue and then Freepers made their comments and posts on one page. This current regime of “individual” posings of each comment to a headline is messy, uncoordinated, with many comments and posting far from the original subject matter of th posted item!!!
It appears that Free Republic has lost control of the blog...with comments all over the place. Such a layout certainly diminishes the intent and purpose of this fine blog!!! Maybe, I am nuts......but, I no longer enjoy the inteput, the banter and the discussion. Too many current posters are frivalous with their hate, envy, mistakes, lies...that carry no real substance or meaningful content, one way or the other!!!
I know Jim Robinson....he has done...not fine job....but, an outstanding job, in keeping FR focused on the issues and people of the day. I hope the managment of this site, reviews its current practices....for IMHO, I fear this site is headed downward...as many sites have become!!! Just one person’s opinion!!!

You know, that's been in my head recently, and I think you're right. My understanding is that politics was pretty rough-and-tumble, and they certainly didn't all like each other. They were their own men and brought strong opinions to the table.
And, as a side note, with regard to the heated discussions about compromise lately, I think the distaste for any compromise among us comes from years of "compromise" for conservatives meaning getting completely rolled. Compromise between strong men produced the constitution, after all.
Oh, and thanks for posting these live threads. I look forward to them.

Team Cruz is apparently sore they don’t have any live events to get excited about. Trump fills 10,000 seat arenas daily while Cruz is hanging out in bars for photo ops and attends house parties. One person here is going to be the next POTUS and the other is going back to his day job. It’s not hard to figure out who is who.
Yeah, that is odd-—unless his own hotel was fully booked, which is entirely possible. These bookings occur years out for the big ballrooms and convention centers.
Is there a comparison of all the candidates (both parties) campaign events w/estimated crowds size. And interviews on national tv/radio?
I get this sense that Trump is easily drawing more people to rallies than all the others combined. But would like to see that in #’s and the frequency, this guy is non stop.
Also interviews, he has no fear being interviewed by people he knows dislike him. He stuffed George Stephaoplouiousisisis(sp) pretty good the other day.
I would just like to see the numbers laid out day by day since July. I think if you compare him to the others it will be staggering.
The Trump Hotel in Vegas has at maximum a meeting room that will hold 400 people. It is primarily a luxury hotel.
The South Point has meeting rooms with capacity of 3000 with additional rooms. It is set up for conventions and exhibit halls.
