The Bush blame game begins
Politico ^ | 1/21/16 | ANNA PALMER and ELI STOKOLS

Posted on 01/21/2016 4:24:16 AM PST by jimbo123

With Jeb struggling, supporters, staff and donors start pointing the finger at the super PAC's chief, Mike Murphy.

They think he wasted money on everything from an iPad-sized video mailer to direct mail for donors in states that don't yet matter. They think his attacks on Marco Rubio are doing more harm than good. And they worry that, at the end, all he will have accomplished is the destruction of the Bush family brand.

The big-money supporters fueling Jeb Bush's super PAC have found their boogey man: Mike Murphy, a sharp-witted, Twitter-obsessed veteran GOP ad man who runs Right to Rise.

If Bush's campaign ends with anything other than the GOP nomination, blame is certain to be widespread. But that donors and GOP operatives are already sniping at Murphy before the first votes are cast demonstrates the depth of frustration and displeasure with the Bush-world loyalist.

-snip-

POLITICO interviewed nearly two dozen Right to Rise donors and Bush supporters, and all blamed Murphy for a super PAC strategy that has failed to boost their struggling candidate. Multiple advisers to the Right to Rise super PAC concede privately that the $40 million spent on positive ads aimed at telling Bush's story has yielded no tangible dividends.

Among the many and varied complaints, several Republicans close to the Bush campaign have questioned the PAC's decision to let John Kasich own the airwaves in New Hampshire this fall, allowing the Ohio governor to get a foothold in a state where Bush must perform well to keep his White House bid alive. Others faulted Right to Rise for spending so much money on telling Bush's story and not changing tactics immediately after Donald Trump entered the race and began stoking the groundswell of anti-establishment sentiment and defined Bush--lastingly--as "low energy."

They got that right. Mike Murphy is a dumbass.

But Jeb is the bigger dumbass for putting him in charge of the superpac and giving him over $100 million to spend.

It’s also because Jeb is just a poor candidate. He is very low energy, he said that he didn’t need the republican base, and probably his biggest problem is that the majority of people are just fed up with Bushes. We’ve had two Bushes and that was two too many.

There was a time when Jebisito had the image of being the smartest Bush.

Time has now revealed he is the dumbest Bush...and that’s saying something!

Bush supporters have no principles and are just opportunists. They are like rats deserting a sinking ship.

They run to the MSM to attack the people they worked for and supposedly supported. These people need to be kept out of government.

Just wait! Jorge P. is waiting in the wings for his turn while biding time in his no show job. Entropy will prove him to be a chip off the old block. Merriment and face palms to follow.

I still think that the GOPe and the Bush family have something up their sleeve to try to manipulate the Convention to see their boy as nominee. The family seems to be prideful. With so much pride, a normal person would step aside and try to retain some measure of dignity. He’s sticking around for some reason.

If Cruz wins a good number of delegates, Rove and Priebus will DECLARE HIM INELIGIBLE and STRIP HIM OF HIS DELEGATES and give them to Jeb at the convention.

That’s why Jeb is sticking around. Jeb is counting on a brokered convention with a GIFT from Rove and Priebus of Cruz’s delegates.

How about the simple fact that Bush is on the wrong side of the issues that matter in this election; immigration and Islam.

Exactly, hearing him prattle on is kind of like listening to Mantovani or Percy Faith (mind you, I do have a spot in my heart for Bert Kaempfert, lol).

The Bush family brand was destroyed the moment the left hit at Bush and Rove suggested he not respond to the rantings of the lunatic fringe. That “wimpified” a proud family who served this country with honor and distinction for 3 generations.

The last two GOP presidents were Bushes (which is f’ed up by itself), so why on Earth did Jeb even think he stood a chance? His brother left with a pathetically low approval rating! That should have been more than enough evidence for him to find something else to do.
