Except Hegelian tactics don’t work to advance good.
They only work to advance evil.
To believe otherwise is to put your faith in a Utilitarian mirage.
We should adopt the simple attitude of our first president:
“If, to please the people, we offer what we ourselves disprove, how can we afterwards defend our work? Let us raise a standard to which the wise and the honest can repair. The event is in the hand of God.”
- George Washington
Perhaps you misunderstood me slightly. I would agree with you.
I suggested considering learning from Hegelian dialectics so as not to miss the disaster it has been in history. The more recently branded “incrementalism” is an attractive, shiny, new wheel for many. But we should be learning from history to see how such things were responsible for the deaths of (some say) 100+ million in the 20th century alone.
