I so want to call the "crabby" ones "Cruzstaceans" LOL

just kidding Cruz folks

You see, now that's funny right there. Even if you love the guy you should be able to appreciate it.

Humor. Where did it vanish too!

Even the comedians anymore say that people have lost their sense of humor.

My Dad is a real old guy and he keeps kickin’. People ask him how he has made it that long.

He always says that no matter how tough things could be at times, he never lost his sense of humor.

We have some very funny people here and I love following them.

Poll are showing Trump picking up 20% of blue collar Reagan Democrats if he wins. That means we win states like NJ and Pa and all of the purple states. In effect it’s a possible LANDSLIDE.

Elections are about winning...not crying all the way home so you can cry some more.

Walking away at this critical juncture will kill the Conservative movement. It won’t help it.

There will be 3 Supreme Court Justices appointed by the next President. That is the reality. If conservatives are in the Trump or Cruz movement and either wins, we need to be part of it and influence Trump or Cruz on those picks.

Good post. I do suggest we enact a moratorium on the term landslide though. It is counterproductive because it could depress the vote because people might think "it's in the bag" and stay home. To get a landslide requires deep "blue" states and they still are not in play. If the election were held today it just might be a Trump popular vote victory but a Hillary electoral win, reversing 2000. This thing is not a cakewalk because of their electoral advantage.

PA is crucial, those four big rust/coal belt swing states, OH, PA, MI, WI can themselves provide the margin of victory. But the election hasn't yet turned to jobs and taxes. If Trump pivots to those then there is a real shot. But just because a Walker or Kasich ( or Christie ... ) wins as Governor does not mean much since all those Governors running for President this year were off-year elected. Strength needs to be seen in Presidential years because that is when the (D)ummies are highly motivated.

Supreme Court. I would say there are up to 5 likely seats ( unless the 2 liberals decide to bail early ) with Ginsberg, Breyer, Scalia, Thomas, and the SOB Kennedy. This is all based on age and health. But who knows, they may be trying for new records!

Dream scenario ... Trump calls Roberts and asks him to retire to save what is left of his reputation. Six seats change. And we eventually are on the receiving end of 7-2 conservative decisions. ( I'll go check my medication now! )

I didn’t know there was a freepmail going around. I did not get anything and know of no one who did. I would like to know of the contents also, out of curiosity. I have a couple of friends “over there”, one especially, and was sorry to learn they are there.

I am so glad you are here, still. FR is a legend and has earned it’s stripes, even if it is perilous sledding during a primary, we’re family, even if some of our relatives are out of sorts with us.

Good to hear from you.

Personally, I'm grateful to you for your website and for your not purging me whenever I've given you good reasons to.

You do what you have to do with those most noxious weeds from time to time, but most of the time you remind me of this:

"The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'"
"'No,' he answered, 'because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest.'"
For me, thanks to the wide variety of published and blog information and commentary posted, along with FR comments, this is the best one stop shop for almost all the US and World news and event coverage I need.

Which reminds me, whether you purge me or not, I still owe you for this quarter.

I really don't fully give back to you for what I receive, but I'm working on that.

Once I cover some bills, the check's in the mail.

Thank you very much, GBA! I’m not planning on purging anyone.

God bless.

Or, if there is no purging, do we really want to continue our discussions in the forum where the owner despises us for not supporting his non-Conservative candidate?

Are they confused? I saw specifically on the 'let's be civil' thread where you said you prefer Cruz.

Some people are crybabies.

I say that as one who, while having reservations about some of Cruz' positions, thinks that Trump only plays a conservative on TV and that the ink is as at least as wet on his professed 'conservatism' as it was on Mittens' in 2012.

Had not heard of that site until this afternoon via your post.

Many posters there are venting their frustration at Trump’s success in the campaign so far while decrying unspecified criticisms of Ted Cruz on FR.

Same wheel-spinning that’s going on here with a few dedicated posters for and and a few rabid zealots against either Cruz or Trump.

Am not participating in that foolishness here or elsewhere.

Thank you for zapping at least one anti-Palin thread.

You guys got him beat good. Heck you 'Cruzeriods' there are a new entry in the Merriam-Webster thesaurus next to the word "batty".

<<< “ Show me examples of my rudeness Amntn.” >> *****

The above is an example.

That touch of know-it-all, that attitudinal approach of just-dare-to-convince-me, and implies that “it is I who shall be the arbiter of deciding if you have a case”.

I have been a scold to you because your threads often began with “tell me”, “show me”, and “name this or that”, and other very similar demands, always speaking to us in terms that sounded like we needed to report to you. You were unnecessarily unfriendly and openly made it about you, as if you were us assignments. We were to respond to your titles, as if it were you alone who could deem our replies legitimate, or opinions worthy.

None which ever were, to my knowledge.

Right. But it was also the voters (such as my cousins) who believed it when Arnold was parroting McClintock and sounded rather conservative. But as was pointed out by another poster, once the unions got their vote (and I don't believe Arnold fought them) he gave up any pretense of advancing conservative principles.

As you mentioned radio personalities saying McClintock couldn't win, he probably would have won against Bustamonte had not this big famous celebrity come along. This is part of my concern this time around.

I am not sure that you will get away from the nastiness, where you are considering to go, nor may find the fascinating political exchanges that you miss here.

I read a few of the posts from “over there” and inferred that the site may serve as one more venting location for the frustrated, who can not make their case here to their satisfaction.

I stand on the fact that TRUMP is prolife and pro-Religious Liberty and defends Christianity here, and in the ME, in a way that is convincing— that how ever secular he may be, that he is FED UP.

They actually spoke their minds and risked banishment.

Let me know when notorious Trumpers answer this question:

If Cruz is the nominee, will you vote for him?

What do you mean they?

I've just located my pings and FR mail to this thread, and just checked the link to the site only to find your screen name prominently there and advocating the withholding of Donations to Free Republic.

In fact, the site looked like your creation, is it?

I'll let you in on a huge factoid. Echo chambers get boring fast, particularly those started by P.O'd. sulking FReepers. Been there, done that. S.T.U.P.I.D.

Honorable FReepers don't use FR mail to recruit.

To answer your silly question: I think I've seen 2 or 3 members post they won't vote for Cruz if he's our nominee, but I discounted their nay's as paybacks to the several members who firmly state that they will not vote for Trump if he's the nominee.

Primary season brings out the worst in some people.

In my view FR really got off track when people bought the liberal Zeitgeist about Bush the War etc.
Jihadists declared war on us long before Bush became President .
9/11 should have made it clear to everyone that we were facing a long long struggle,. Obamas failures by reversing all of Bush’s accomplishments have only emphasized that Bush had was right. The fact that Trump has a liberal view that too many “conservatives” have bought into is not a good thing.

Ivan’s was fueled by Howlin.
Huge difference.
At the time, she was my best friend and I knew her in person.
But for her, I would have NEVER left here. I was the very last to leave and the first to return.
The funniest thing about the whole damn thing was that I didn’t give a damn about Rudy! I was for my husband’s lifelong pal, John McCain, which made me very unpopular with that group and almost everyone here!!!
