The dumbest thing Cruz did was to believe McConnell wouldn't lie to him.
The second dumbest thing Cruz did was assume Trump wouldn't turn on him as soon as Cruz got the lead.
The dumbest thing Trump supporters did was assume Trump didn't lie to them and that Trump won't turn on them as soon as he gets the nomination.
This is the kind of thing my mom used to buy, thinking it would accumulate in value. After 25 years, we’d dig out the “Impeach Nixon!” “Impeach Carter” buttons only to find them yellowed and completely worthless.

That’s because Cruz knows if Trumps not there the debates didn’t happen to most of the country.

LOL. I only disagree on one point because I saw nothing to make me think Cruz did not expect Trump to turn on him. Cruz was smart to avoid provoking a fight for as long as he could so he could collect donations unfettered without a negative campaign going against him.

85% of Iowa voters? from what I understand they are late deciders. It’s never wise to assume you have it in the bag, it may cause those first time caucus voters to decide there’s no need to show up. While many of Trump’s supporters see this as sticking it the the media, on the fence voters in Iowa probably have already factored that into their calculations. They may see this move in a different way and use their vote as a against Trump.
Cruz just keeps getting creepier and creepier. Cruz’ obsession with Trump reminds me of Fatal Attraction.
At this rate he will finish 3rd in Iowa. This is a supremely stupid move on his part.

Maybe Canada won’t let Trump in. They recently debated banning him from the UK. Trudeau is to their left and might not accept him.
