He tried the same thing with McCain. Sucked up to him real good. His nickname, “the Huckster”, serves him well.

Huckster’s bill paying gig is pretending to be sincere as a broadcast preacher.
Publicly distancing himself from Fox after they decided to bring in the rabid Muslim bolsters his image with his target audience. Not as much as confronting her with the violence of Islam and thereby getting escorted off the set as was intended for Trump, but still significantly.
Huck has no core principles and he does stupid things, but he knows who buys his supper and he will be there when the dinner bell rings.
He's just wants to give the prayer at the inauguration & lead the Nat'l Day of Prayer!
