He and the Gov trying to shut Cruz down.
Probably. But it doesn’t make the secretary’s clarification untrue. The word “voter violation” rather skirts decorum with insinuation.
The poor rube getting this bird cage liner push-mailer might be alarmed or made embarrassed by having their private vote publically exposed to their neighbors.
Trying to shut him down? Hardly. In his position I would also feel compelled to clarify there is nothing official about the voting “report card” that the Cruz campaign sent out. It was designed to alarm, worry, and embarrass people. No doubt a tactic that someone somewhere thought was a good idea, but I don’t agree. I used to think Cruz was a viable and worthy opponent but I am really beginning to wonder.
In my hometown in the rural South the blacks outnumber the whites two to one. Every election day the whites burn up the phone lines of those who haven’t voted and encourage them to get to the polls. They get the numbers and list of who hasn’t voted from the county clerk and it is legal. And it works. They’ve still got a white sheriff and white county judge and DA.
The blacks tried to sue but the case was thrown out.
However, note it’s the voters calling other voters. It’s not a candidate mailing someone who didn’t vote in the last election and telling them they got an “F” on a “voter report card”.
